water parks

i believe sweetdana is speaking of plantar warts.
from mayo clinic:
the virus does thrive in warm, moist environments — such as shower floors, locker rooms and public swimming areas. Consequently, you may contract the virus by walking barefoot around pools or gyms.

I read through the mayo article and I remember when I was a young teenager I had one and it was painful. I also remember my Dr had me do something I even found odd at the time. I put the white johnson and johnson (not sure what it is called off the top of my head) on it and left of for a week then pulled it off, did this a few times and what happened is I basically pulled the wart out root and all from the bottom of my foot. I remember some pain but also thinking it was pretty cool to do. Never heard of this again until I saw the "Duct Tape" method on the mayo site...not sure on the success rate but first hand it worked for me.

The weird stuff you can learn on the Disboards!!!!

The doc asked was she at a public pool w/o water shoes or a kids play place recently. ... Only 1 applied. Although a 3rd option is always plausible doc stated there are the 2 leading causes.

Interesting! I had no clue!

My kids have had the run of the waterpark for a few years now, I generally camp in a chair with a book, but once in a while leave my stuff at the chair for a trip in the river or something.
Get their early and grab a chair with some shade :)

I am considering letting our kids have the run of the park. How old are your children?

Yes, I will be there too.

Did not know that, great info! 20 for a locker rental is more than I would pay but free fits perfectly into my budget.

I don't know where people are getting $20 for a locker rental. The small lockers are $13 and the large ones are $15. Then you get $5 back when you return the key...so really, it's $8 and $10.

I would swear that the quarterly newsletter for the Disney Visa card had this offer, stated it ran until the end of the year, and you only have to show your card to get it. Darn it, I have to find that flyer!

The summer Disney Visa newsletter only mentioned it in a tiny blurb, and says to visit this page for more details:

www.disneyrewards.com/locker

On this page it says until July 31st, and you have to print the coupon.
I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

You are absolutely correct. I found the flyer. The offer is listed under "Tip," and is indeed good only until the end of July. I guess I was hoping it would be good while I was there in December!
