Water Parks...worth it?

Absolutely!

My DD's now 6 and 4, have enjoyed them for the last couple of years. It is non-stop fun in the Ketakiddie Creek section for the small ones. While you may wait an hour for a 90 sec Dumbo ride, the water parks are such a great value.

We spend at least one day there sometimes two.

My kids (DD14 & DS12) prefer BB. I think there's more there for the older kids, although there are some nice areas for the little ones as well.

I'd say that it's definitely worth going to the water parks if you have UPHs or PHPs. I'm not sure that I would pay the full admission price of $33.02/adult to go. That would be over $130 for our family of 4!

The water parks are definitely worth it if you and your kids enjoy the water. I've been several times with all adult groups (30-somethings) as well as with my sister's kids (ranging from baby through 4 years).

As far as which park is better, I think it really depends on what your family enjoys. Blizzard Beach has more and longer slides while Typhoon Lagoon has a superior wave pool and the Shark Reef. The kiddie areas of each (which my niece has loved ages 2-4) both have their pros and cons. Probably more to do at BB, but it's easier to keep track of little ones and shadier at TL.

My four 20-somethings (DD, DS, DBF, DGF) waited until the last day of our 10 day stay to visit Blizzard Beach and they were soooooo bummed. They wished they had gone earlier and often.

They loved it!

We put off going to the water parks for quite a few trips. NEVER AGAIN!! I loved TL!!! I'm only hoping that our trip in Feb will have just 1 day warm enough to do the open water park.

My kids....gulp ...adults 24/22/22/21 prefer the waterparks to the other parks!! So definitely a yes and as a previous poster recommended do it early in your stay!

We don't go to them now with our little ones because for us the resort pool is enough, but we used to go before we had kids and they are SO much fun!!! Totally worth it! We'll start going again when our kids are a bit older. :)

We took one day during our last trip and went to BB. My kids and DH loved it. I spent most of the time floating around their "lazy river" and just relaxed. It was a nice break during our week at WDW and we will do it again next time we go! It is a great way to revitalize yourself...especially in the HOT summer months!

:D

They definitely are worth visiting, if you have the time. If I had only 4 or 5 days, I'd be a little tentative to go, since there's so much to see at the 4 theme parks. If you have more time than that, however, you won't be disappointed. Although I prefer Blizzard Beach over Typhoon Lagoon, both are great water parks with something for everyone at both parks.

For us the water parks are a great way to extend your week. WE have bought 5 day passes the last two times we have gone down. We bought the ones with pluses on. By using the water parks and not going into a major park we extended our visit to a week. You can eat at your resort or at another resort. We have done Trails End the last couple of times we did the water parks. Once we caught the boat back to the MK to get a bus. While we were riding the boat the fireworks went off over the castle. A great end to the day.

We love them! I think they are more relaxing than the regular parks, because you don't feel compelled to try to do so much. Also great on the days that are really hot.

typhoon lagoon is our favorite. we love the lazy river as it it a nice way to relax and stay cool gliding along past lush foliage., BB 's lazy river is too open and bare and not nearly as long a ride. in general TL has much better scenery and we love the body slides and the tube slides too.
