Water parks with non swimmers

Just looking for an idea about which water park might fit my family best. My two youngest (5&8, will be 9) do not swim well. Both of them will not jump into water or go down a water slide. They hate splashing. Where is the calmest place to take them?

Also how long should I plan to spend. I was thinking just two hours or so, am I way off? Is there a water park that is beach like? My kids do love sand and waves...

Also what time do the water parks close? We are an extreamly fair skin family and I was wondering if early or late is better in FL sun. Here in Texas I find we burn less if we wait to after 3, but if the parks close at 5 we may need to go earlier. We are there first 10 days in June.

I have never been to any of the water parks so I am pretty clueless about them. I found some maps posted, but most of the info I am seeing is sort of vapid.

Thanks for your help.

Haley

If I had non-swimmers, I would stay at the hotel pool. The Disney water parks are large, with slides and wave pools. Plus, they cost a lot of money for someone who doesn't swim.
Perhaps you could go to DisneyQuest instead, or the wonderful miniature golf courses, maybe the kids would like either of those better. There are no water parks where the won't get splashed, I'm sure. In June, both will be very crowded, and it is very hot in Florida.

If your kids don't like slides or splashing why not stay in the hotel pool?? I believe Typhoon Lagoon is a "beach like" area but we've never been there. I'd say IF it's open that would be your best bet but for some reason I think it's been closed.

Thanks for the ideas

That was my original instinct, skip the water parks, but then I was worried we would miss something... don't know why, we live near a huge water park and have never been to it.

I am just starting to hyper plan my days because I want to figure out what PS I need....

I wish Iknew the park hours for June.

running OT again...

Haley.

You really need to try the water parks. Both parks have areas devoted to little kids. No need to know how to swim. We were there with my neice's kids, 3 and 6 and they refused to leave the kids area. And there is the lazy river. You just ride around in an inner tube and it's great fun.

I agree on the lazy rivers. You get an inner tube, some are closed on the bottom, so your kids can stay safely inside the tube and not worry about falling through. But the river isn't very deep (unless you are talking about Stormalong Bay at the Beach and Yacht Clubs, that one is about 8 feet deep). They have some smaller kid slides and the family tube ride is kind of fun - a little fast, but fun.

If your kids don't like getting splashed, sliding or jumping into water, the last place I'd go is a water park. The lazy river is nice at Typhoon lagoon but I seem to remember going under a waterfall of sorts and really getting splashed. The water parks get very crowded, so not a lot of control over being splashed.

If they like the beach, you could take a ride out to Cocoa and play in the sand and waves.

It's a lot of $$$ for admission not to utilize everything the parks have to offer. It'd be close to $100 for your family of 4. I'm sure they'd enjoy some of what the water parks had to offer, but for that kind of $$$, I'd go with the hotel pool, or the beach. They'll have plenty of fun at the theme parks!!

Good Luck in whatever you decide.
