We're going to the World May 22-29...planning on spending Sunday morning in one of the water parks. Which is best for little ones (almost 3 year old son and 6 year old son)? How are the "kid" areas in any of them? Any input greatly appreciated!:hyper:

I'd be curious to hear about this too! My ds will be 2 1/2 when we go and are planning a water park visit also!:smooth:

For that age of Children may I suggest Blizzard Beach .

Why? - For the younger ones you have Tike's Peak - small slides, fountain play area and pop jets - must be UNDER 48" tall.

For your Pre-Teens you have Ski Patrol - with slides, T-Bar drop and "iceberg" walk across a shallow pool.

For all of you check out Teamboat Springs - family raft ride and the Cross Country Creek tube ride (lazy river) around the park.

I hope this helps.

A couple of years ago when our kids were 2 1/2 & 5, we went to Typhoon Lagoon. They loved it. The 2 1/2 year old just enjoyed the atmosphere and loved playing in the sand. The 5 year old enjoyed the slides.

For this age, I'd do Blizzard Beach. There is a terrific area for small kids with smaller slides, fountains, etc. We took a 3 and 6 year old and it worked out great, although we had to split up. The younger one couldn't do the bigger slides (although we did do a raft ride down a long chute) but he was quite happy to stay in the tyke area.

Hey! What a familiar sounding story!! We're going to be there at the same time - May 22 - 29th, and we're doing Blizzard Beach on Sunday morning - and my DS is almost 3 (actually turns 3 while we're there), DD is 6 - Kinda cool, huh?

We've been to Disney bunches but never done the water parks before, so I'm excited. Hope you guys have a great time!

We've done both TL an BB. My boys like BB much better. They love the life guard training Center with the T-Bar (zip line) and Ice burges. They also go on most of the larger slides (middle ds was 5 last trip). Tikes peak is great for the little ones with smaller versions of the larger rides.

Just keep in mind Blizzard Beach you will need to split up. This happened to us last summer. Our 5 year old wanted the preteen section, but our youngest at 2 couldn't do anything there. The smaller kid section was cute, though.

Personally we had more fun at TL. Don't know why. Maybe caused we all stayed together more.

I think BB will be a hit when our youngest can join her sister in the preteen section. This caused much stress for her last time we went. The family raft ride at BB is better than at TL.

Make sure at BB you wear super duper sunscreen. That white "snow" everywhere can cause one mean burn! And flip flops for your feet while moving from attraction to attraction. Does anyone know if they let you wear those water socks there? I wonder how many go to the first aid for burned feet? OUCH! It is a little more shaded at TL and not quite a problem.

We're skipping the water parks this year and probably until my youngest can swim. She is taking longer cause she has had tubes twice and still won't put her head under.

Yes you can wear Water Shoes there but you can't wear them on the big slides for safety reasons.

They do sell them in the parks but you'll get them cheaper from Wal Mart or other supermarkets.
