I am confused about the additional charge for water parks. My family and I will be in DW for 10 days. We want to visit one of the water parks for ONE of those days. Do we buy a 9-day ticket with the additional charge for water parks OR must we buy a 10-day ticket with the additional charge?

You buy the park hopper with water parks included for whatever number of days you want tickets for. Then for every park day you buy you get as many water park days. Or you can buy a one day water park ticket. You're going to be there 10 days, you should try both water parks.

If you add the water parks and more option to your park tickets, you can go to the water park every day if you like. It does not take a day from your park tickets. So if you get a 9 day ticket, you can access the 4 main parks for 9 days, PLUS you can visit a water park up to 9 times.

If you just want to visit a water park one time, just buy a separate one day water park ticket. Adding the water parks and more option to your park tickets would be a huge waste of money in that case

To you plan to buy a park hopper ticket, it will be cheaper to add the park hopper plus option for your water park admission. You will get as many water park admissions as days of your ticket.

If you are not buying a park hopper ticket, then it would be cheaper to just buy the single-day admission water park ticket.

If this all sounds confusing, for example, you don't know what a park hopper is, Disney has many ticketing options, so you may want to study up. If you live in Florida there even more options to consider.

Another thing to consider if you are planning a 10-day trip is whether or not you may want to another trip within a year. Then an annual pass could be considered.

We did a 10 day trip and it ended up being better to buy a season pass. Then we also got the pass holder perks. It was 3 years ago - the perks then included discount on merchandise; parking at the parks; the photo pass. It was worth it to us and we made a second trip that year because of it!

If you plan 9 days at the theme parks and 1 day at a water park without a theme park, then you only need 9 day tickets.

For the water park admission, you have 2 options:
a) add the "Plus" option if you are getting park hoppers (this will also allow you a total of 9 water park or mini-golf or Oak Trail golf)
b) a single-day water park ticket if you don't plan on hoppers
So that's a 9-day Park Hopper Plus, or a 9-day Base Ticket plus a one-day water park ticket.

If you might enter a theme park in the evening after doing the water park during the day, you'll want a 10-day ticket.

Enjoy your vacation!
