Water Parks or Just Resort Pools?

Hi everyone-

My family of 5 is staying at The Bluegreen Fountains resort. We already have a few days blocked out for the MK (BOG breakfast!!) and Epcot but wanted to do a few different things (we live close by and do Disney quite a bit).

My question is I know they have a lot of pools and water areas at this resort so I'm wondering if it's worth paying to do a day at any water parks? Am I better off using the resort pools and saving my money or would it be worth doing a water park or two? My kids ages are 7, 3, and 1 ( so they won't be able to do a lot of the bigger kid slides). Any input on some other less expensive things to do as well would be great. We will have our own vehicle with us.

Thanks!

My daughter would prefer to stay at the water park than anywhere else. We have been going since she was 4 and its still her favorite thing to do (she is now 12). Her favorite water park is Aquatica but it may be because of the slides. The Disney water parks have better small kid areas I think.
To me the resort pools are ok but they dont compare to the Disney Water Parks - under 3 is free so that should help. Personally I would splurge...we love a day at the water park !

We love the waterparks and go often during our annual three weeks. Favourite is Aquatica and we always have a 14 day pass and use the last 14 days so we can go on our last day. Love the Disney ones too but all are expensive if only going for one day but a bargain if you have the 2 week pass. Our resort has six pools so we are in the water a lot but just love the water parks.

We spend more time at water parks than theme parks. My kids just got sick of lines and heat and they love the lower crowds and relaxation of the water parks. We always go unless it's below 70 degrees, even if it's just for an afternoon break.

We love the water parks. In fact we don't even go to the Disney parks. However, my kids love the pools too. With your kids ages pool might be just fine and not so hectic chasing after 3 kids.

Big thumbs up for Aquatica from our family too :dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:
The Disney waterparks are good, but Aquatica is excellent.

If you already have Disney tickets, adding the "Waterparks and more" option to your existing ticket is a very reasonably priced upgrade and gives you acces to the waterparks (and/or several other choices), one for each day of your park ticket (4 day ticket gets 4 WP & more visits, 5 day gets 5, 10 day gets 10 etc)

If you are planning a Seaworld or Busch Gardens visit, they have bundle tickets with Aquatica at excellent prices.

My son prefers water parks to theme parks, too. I don't, but I do agree that the waterparks are definitely worth a visit. I like the Disney ones a lot better than Sea World's Aquatica, btw.

Resort pools tend to get crowded (except for Stormalong Bay) and while enjoyable, they just don't offer the kinds of attractions a waterpark can. If you just want to chill out and cool off, stick with the resort pool. If your family is looking for a lot of fun in the water for hours, I recommend a water park.
