Water parks in Dec?

Has anyone done water parks in Dec? I wasn't planning on going but my husband looked shocked I hadn't considered it.

He, of course, swims in the Atlantic ocean in Maine when the temp of the water is about 50 degrees. He's a lovely shade of blue.

I see only one park is open. Are they crowded? Has anyone gone before?

When we went in 2000 we went to Typhoon Lagoon and the weather was just right. (We're from Michigan) Imagine our surprise when we got there and they told us the park wasn't going to be open. Unless there's at least 200 people they close. Well, there were a few people like us from the North who thought it was a great day but there weren't enough of us. They did let us go in (no day used on our tickets) until 11:00 but we had to promise to leave when they blew the whistle. Well, we raced through and did our favorite things and then we left. So it depends on the weather and how many people show up. All of the pools at Disney (including the water parks) are heated but some people thinks it has to be in the 80's or higher before they think about the water parks. So since we had planned on spending the day at the water park we went back to our resort and spent a couple of hours in the pool and then went resort hopping.

We went in 12/01 and had a great time at Blizzard Beach. The weather was warm bordering on hot, and the park was not crowded. We were able to go on all the slides we wanted without any wait other than getting to the top of the mountain. It was great!

While the weather can be okay for the water parks, if it gets really cold (which can happen) they will close the water parks. The lifeguards can't sit out all day in 40 degree temps. One park is always down for rehab during December.
