We are headed to WDW in September '05. We are taking our Granddaughter, 4, and our son 21 (her uncle). Mom cannot go due to new baby. Is it worth the Plus option for GD to attend the water parks. We would not be going to Pleasure Island. I am not sure about Disney Quest, I don't know if she is age appropriate for that either. Was wondering if we should spring for the Plus option, or just pay for the one day at the water park. Also which one is the best for her age? As you can see a lot has changed at WDW since my children were that age. :wave2:

At age 4, I would think she would enjoy the pool area at POR, without worrying about a waterpark. Don't forget, you can take her to POFrenchQuarter, they are sister resorts. The waterparks are beautiful, but can be overwhelming for a 4 year old and her grandparent.

Not sure about disneyQuest for a 4 year old.

If you are only going to a one water park it is cheaper just to get a ticket ($33 for adults, vs 45 to get the plus.)

Also you can just get them there if you want to go. My friend got pluses on her tickets last time and felt the NEEDed to go to BB becuase it was already paid for (and the weather wasn't that great.) They wouldn't of if they hadn't already bought their tickets.

At 4 the best water park would be BB. It is fun, there really is a lot to do for the kids. TL is good, but for kids a little bit older and it is very splashy. If she doesn't like lots of water in her face, BB is better. (Our DD has been to both and likes BB best.)

I am guessing you can go with out it and have a perfectly fun time too. (and more money for something else.)

I would wait and see how the trip is going. If your 4 year old REALLy likes water play it might be worth it. Also if it is very warm and sunny.

Last year we went with 2 just under 3 years olds and it really was the best day of the whole trip. They even had more fun then at MK. This year we skipped it, it was fine.

BTW, mom's with new babies go all the time and are just fine. (depending on how NEW you are talking about.)

However a trip to WDW with Grandma and Uncle can be a very speical thing for a child who just became a big sister! :cheer2:

Thanks for the advice, we will just wing it. If son wants to go he and Grandaddy can go and maybe Grandmama and GD will do something for girls.

If you decide to "do something for the girls" while teh guys are at the water park , you might check out "Alice's Tea Party" its a cute character tea party and about the same price as admission to a water park

I think you're making the right decision. My DD was just 5 (she's kind of small for her age) when we descended on BB. There's really not much for little ones to do that they can't do at a really nice hotel pool. They have this little mini-water park section for pres choolers with little innertubes and a mild slide, then some water fountains spraying stuff. She got bored way before her brother and dad got tired of all the great fun stuff there is for bigger kids. Give her a few more years and it'll be a great place for her.

I also agree on the Tea Party--we have not done it but it sounds absolutely precious for a 4 year old little girl. I'd get her the movie now, to make sure she is familiar with it and Alice before you go just in case you decide to try it.

Have a wonderful time! And, BTW, I think its so sweet of you to take her. Every child should be so lucky that grammy can afford to take her and wants to take her to the most magical place on earth!

When my dd was a pre-schooler, she loved loved loved TL! She's rather "timid" to in regards to rides, etc. There a lots of little water "slides" that were just right for her plus a kiddie lazy river.

Thanks so much for the advice. I think we may just have to try the Tea Party for us girls. Her mom (my daughter) and her dad just had a new little one and I have always had the opinion that age 4 was perfect for the 1st WDW trip I did this with my d and my s they were 6 years apart so I really got to enjoy seeing it for the 1st time from each of their eyes. I cannot wait to see it through my GD's eyes again.
