Water Parks...can you wear t-shirts?

I just got off the phone with my parents. Apparently my sister has decided, weather pending (so this may be a moot point), that a water park would be fun on Friday afternoon. (My parents are starting their journey down tomorrow, I fly on Friday morning.)

OK, normally I'm cool with that.

However, I've lost around 35 pounds since the summer when I last had on my bathing suit. I located it and tried it on. It still sort of fits, but is really loose in the top. Clearly I don't have time to order something. I'm going to hit up a sporting goods store that does have suits on their webpage in hopes that they actually have them in the store itself, but in the event that they don't, are you allowed to wear a t-shirt at a Disney water park?

tia!

Yep, you sure can. There are one or two of the high speed rides where you wont be allowed to but other than that its all good :)

Thank you! I wanted to have a back-up plan in place in case this store doesn't have them in stock but in a warehouse. Don't want to give anyone an unexpected show! :scared1:

Thanks! For watching calories I've been using myfitnesspal.com. I've also started running (end of June...training for the Disney Half and beyond!) and doing workout dvds - I do some form of workout at least 5 days a week.

Even on Summit Plummt you can keep a shirt on, so no problem there.

Another option: the stores at the water parks sell bathing suits. You might want to check them out also. (When we went in Dec, we realized after we got to WDW that her bathing suit that fit the previous summer was too small!)

Disney has no dress code, other than immodest or dangerous clothing. Wear what you're comfortable with.

Congratulations on your weight loss - treat yourself to a new suit at Disney World if you can find one you like!

I would actually recommend wearing a fitted spandex running/tech shirt. It'll cling to you and maintain it's shape, you won't have to worry as much about it riding up on slides, and you won't have the awkward water bubble.

Lands End rash guard is a good option, if you can get it shipped to you before you leave for your trip.

Thanks guys! I do have some tech shirts...but they're not overly fitted. Looks like I'll see what I can find here, and if nothing then check out the suits at Disney if we end up going to Blizzard Beach.

On our last trip, we brought my sister-in-law and my wife's (male) friend from college. At Blizzard Beach the friend wore solid black swimming trunks, water shoes, a short sleeve BUTTON UP shirt and his glasses. He looked like he was fully dressed for a normal non-water park day. He had no problems on any of the slides though.

I wish I had a picture because when we first got there he didn't want to rent a locker so he was walking through the lazy river with his spare clothes in a plastic bag slung over his shoulder. He wasn't drifting in the water but he looked like a "drifter".

I'm glad they allow shirts for two reasons.

1. For Me: I burn pretty easy, especially in water.

2. For others: nobody wants to see my keg belly and man boo*s. :lmao:

I think I've about decided that if the sports store doesn't have anything out or in the back they can bring out that's reasonably priced (they do on their website, and believe me I looked and looked to see if there was a way I could order on the site and pick up in the store, but no dice), I'll go with the old and slightly too big one and a shirt if we decide to go. I burn easily as well, so that's an added plus.

I remember seeing them at resorts...and I remember the price tags on them too. LOL.

And after all this it might be too cold. Oy vey gotta love the weather!! (Though I will NOT complain if it's on the chilly side for marathon weekend!)

Congratulations on the weight loss! We live in the Northeast & I've seen swimsuits in regular department stores these last couple of weeks. Target, JCPenney & Sears are where I've seen them. If you have access to a car when you're at Disney, you could also go the Target between the airport & Disney or the Target near AKL.
