Water parks and winter closures

Our trip next year is scheduled from October 27-November 6th. Trying to decide if I should get the park hoppers and water park add on. I really don’t need the hoppers but would like a couple days in the water parks just not sure if it’s worth the extra money if only one water park will be open at this time. We have been to both water parks and enjoy them both and if I’m buying the add one it would be nice to be able to visit both parks since I probably won’t even use the hoppers. I am either getting a 4 or 5 day ticket and will probably utilize one mini golf. So my question is at this time of year is only one water park usually open? And anyway to know which one will be open?

This year Blizzard Beach is closed for refurb from 10/22 through 1/6/2018. Typhoon Lagoon is currently scheduled to close for refurb on 1/7/2018 until 3/17/2018.

For many, many years, TL was closed in the Fall, and BB closed in the Winter. About 3 years ago, iirc, Disney swapped them. Since then, as PP stated, BB has been closed in the Fall, and TL closed in the Winter.

Thanks for the replies, we were there in January and did one day at BB so at least next year if we decide it looks like we can do Typhoon Lagoon in the Fall.

I did and to add on hoppers plus water park it’s $70 extra per person vs $57 for one water park day. So for the extra $13 per person I eat multiple water park and more entries plus park hopper. It only makes sense for the extra $13 a person to get the add on since we will probably utilize at least a couple water park and more entries plus then I have the hoppers in case we may want to use them.

We really don’t use the hoppers because I travel with teens who think it’s torture to get up before noon so we usually get to the park around lunchtime and stay until closing. The only time we hop is if a park closes early and say MK has a late close and we go there to finish off the night.
