Water Parks and Cash for Food

Is it true that the food places at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach accept only cash and not room cards or credit cards? I've heard conflicting stories.

I'm thinking that the little carts might take only cash like some do in other parks but that counters like Leaning Palms, Avalunch, etc., would have to take cards.

Can anyone give me a list of the food places in the water parks that will take a room card? I'd rather not bring a bunch of cash with me. Thanks!

I just checked the allearsnet site and it says only Arctic Dots in Typhoon Lagoon does not take the gift cards, snack credits, or key cards. It does take cash, credit card, or traveler's checks.

That sounds right. They are probably not electronically set up for other payment methods, but most (or at least a good number) of places at the waterparks are Dining Plan locations so they definintely take KTTW cards. I have never used a gift card for food/snacks so can't tell you about that.

All of the fixed locations at the water parks have regular cash registers and will take any form of payment.

Also, you can buy miniature Disney Gift Cards with wrist straps in any amount from $5.00 on up (to $1,500) at any of the ticket or Guest Relations windows. You can use cash, hotel charge, debit or credit cards, etc., to buy the gift cards. And they are valid anywhere on property, not just the water parks.

We paid soggy cash at the mini donut stand at Blizzard Beach. They are worth carrying some cash for. Mmmm!

Hmmm ... I'm clear on everything (thanks!) except for Arctic Dots. I checked allears.net myself and confirmed Missytara's post about Article Dots not accepting gift cards, room cards, or dining plan cards.

Cheshire Figment, you say that Arctic Dots is like every other place at the water parks and will take cash, cards, etc.

The allears.net menu is dated March 2007 so maybe things have changed since then? I guess it's not a big deal but I'm still curious.

Maybe Arctic Dots is a "Dippin' Dots" franchise and so not able to take Disney gift cards, dining plan coupons, and other Disney payment options?
