Hi All,

I did a quick search but didn't see any recent reports of how BB is running since opening in March? Has anyone been? I was wondering how they are social distancing and wearing masks. No Flames but we are New Yorkers and have become quite the hobbits since we haven't really been able to do much.

TIA

Friends were there the week it opened. Masks were required entering and exiting park, getting food, shopping and in restrooms/change rooms. They were not required anywhere else that I'm aware of.

Thank you! I just didnt want to get there and be overwhelmed.

We were there on a Thursday at the end of March. It was great! Was concerned because of spring break but water park crowds were very light. Never waited more than a few minutes for any ride or the chair lift. Basically - think of the park as an island inside of a lazy river. No masks needed on the island where all the slides and recreation areas are. As soon as you crossed one of the bridges across the rivers to shops, changing areas, etc. you needed a mask (and they had people stationed there to remind everyone crossing over to wear them.

We have bunch of admissions left from very old unexpiring park hoppers so we decided to head up for a day when we were down there. Not doing the main parks until they're back to some semblance or normal (need FP!) but was a great day at the waterpark.

Do they have people stationed by the bathrooms that are within in the 'island' part since there are couple and the one kids area is outside of the 'island' part

I didn't use any of the restrooms on the "island" but there were definitely signs by the one outside the island requiring masks. Don't recall anyone stationed there but that may be because they had people stationed at areas before you got there.

I'm trying to get an idea of size by looking at the map but helps to ask here.

Is it easy enough to navigate that mom can just lay in her chair (lol this is how I "swim") while the tween runs around and rides the big slides? Or is there an area closest to those slides I can find a chair to sit in? Any advice on where I should stake my spot to be closer enough to him?

Something near the wave pool might be central ish. The park is a decent size but nothing like the main parts so getting around isn't terrible but will take a few mins.

We have been to both water parks many times with our (now grown) children.

Blizzard Beach is pretty expansive. I’m guessing about 10-15 minutes to walk a complete circle. There are lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in, lots of paths.

If you let your tweens roam around, you’re not going to be able to see them most of the time. But lifeguards and Cast Members are everywhere.

It’s an incredibly safe place for children. It would seem to be the perfect place to let tweens explore on their own.

Thank you both! Sounds like he'd do fine then. I can start off doing everything at least once with him and then when he feels he knows his way around, go lay in my chair and recover from all the walking we've been doing that week. :rotfl2:

I'd be fine with tweens provided I found a chair that is in a somewhat easy to recognize area - such as the wave pool as someone else noted. Chairs are spread out all over and in many places I'd probably have a hard time finding my way back because alot of areas with chairs look too similar to many of the other areas if you don't know the park too well. We were just there (without kids) and we sat by the wave pool and the easiest thing was we just jumped into the lazy river when we wanted to head back and floated around until we hit the exit at the wave pool and our chairs were right there!

Quick question do you know if the Polar Patios are within in "the island" area you described. We have one reserved for June and hoping we don't have to put them on to go to our own little private space :)
