When I go to my local water park, I just bring a towel from home but my local water park doesn't have thousands of resort rooms tied to it either, so...

If you're going to a water park at WDW and you're staying on-site, what do you do for a towel? Use your room towels? Pack towels from home? Do they have free towels at the water parks for guests to borrow? Do you buy towels in the water park gift shops and how many dozens of dollars are those?

I apologize if this question has been asked before but we're leaving for WDW in less than 27 hours and I keep getting server busy messages when I try to do forum searches and frankly I don't have time to keep messing with it!

last time we were at blizzaed beach there was a little counter service type place were you go through the line and they give you towels and a locker key... i dont think we paid anything but that was 2 years ago....so i believe towels are readily available.

You can rent white towels from the water parks, they are a dollar or two.

We usually bring Disney towels and leave them on a chair w/our stuff. We don't take anything valuable to the water parks, just our clothes, flip flops, and our key to the kingdom card.

Take your own towels! Yes, you can rent them at the water parks for $1 each but they are as rough as sandpaper. Not good if you get even the slightest sunburn.

I never realized there were towels there for rent. We always packed our own from home for the water parks. They are easier to identify when leaving them in a cubby while "riding" etc. They do take up extra room, but we like to have our own. Good Luck! :sunny:

We always bring our own towels as well. We make sure to pack some of our older, threadbare towels that don't take up a lot of room and if they should get taken (they never have), it wouldn't be a big loss. Yes, you can rent towels, but it makes it a lot easier to spot your chair in the sea of white towels. Also, if someone should use your towels, they are not replaced for free. You will have to pay to get new ones. Beach towels at the parks run about $20. We buy one every trip, but wait till we're leaving and save it to use at home.

Since we have to fly to WDW, we don't like to pack our own beach towels. We went the cheapskate route last trip and brought towels from our hotel pool to the water parks, so that we wouldn't have to wait in line or pay to rent them. (A tip I got here at the DIS! :thumbsup2 ) They are exactly the same towels as they rent in the water parks.

Same here- grabbed towels from our resort and brought them back with us. Exact same towels as the resort. Our first year we took our room towels and just asked mousekkeeping for more towels under I read teh suggestion here on DIS to use the pool towels. Now that we re DVC members, I will have to rethink the situation. With a washer and dryer in our villa, I am hoping to pack less and have more room in our luggage to bring our own towels.

We always bring our own beach towels to the water parks. The pool towels and towels for rent are just too small to wrap up in after you get out of the water.

Thanks everyone! It took a while under 'search', but I have my answer now. Better to 'bump' a thread than start a whole new one.

What is bumping a thread I have seen this on other threads what is this?

"Bumping is when someone responds to a thread thereby 'bumping' it back up to the top of the page...sometimes you wil see just 'bumping' in the post. This is because someone hasn't gotten the answer they were looking for, so are making that thread more visable.
As far as bringing towels from home...we always bring a large colorful beach towel to the water parks with us. It is so much easier to find our chaise if we can see our towels..shining like a beacon among the normal white towels!!! We drape them over the backs of our chaises.
