Hi,
My family and I are pretty new to the Disney experience and this will be our second of hopefully many trips. The first trip I had someone book for me, this one I am trying to book myself. I have one day left to book and we plan to go to one of the water parks for the first half of the day and plan to finish up the day in the MK since it stays open till 11:00 that night. I am trying to find a good place to have Dinner that night. I have two small children (2 and 5) and my wife along for the trip. We are on the dining plan and would perfer something that the children would enjoy, but not another character meal. (they enjoyed Ragland and Biergarten because of the singing/dancing) What would be a good choice so that we can leave water park, go to hotel (All Star Movies) and change, then either go to the MK or eat an early dinner, then go to MK?

I've already eaten or booked pretty much everything in the MK, so whats something that would be either easy to get to leaving Al Star Movies then on the MK, or something where I go to the MK and hop on the monorail?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Kona Cafe at the Polynesian is nice and kind of quiet. The food is excellent and they have a dessert called the Kona cone that the kids will love and if you show them a pic they will be looking forward to it.

I am sure you are aready doing Crystal Palace which would be my first choice for MK.

I know you said no character meals but 1900 Park Fare at GF is fun and right on the monorail.

Thanks, I'm doing the 1900 Park Fare on Sunday already though.
I did Crystal Palace in Ocotber on our 1st trip, with so many restraunts I want to try them all.

The Kona sounds interesting. Of course I'm not sure a quiet place is where I need to take my little monsters. :)

What about Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge? It's definitely not quiet;)

I thought about that as it sounded pretty fun.

What would be best way to enjoy waterpark, change at hotel and still have a few hours at MK that night?

Would I need to go to drive to Wilderness Lodge and then drive to MK or take the bus to MK and then the ferry over?

If I do that will I still have time to enjoy MK that night?

Since you mentioned driving, you could venture a few miles offsite, tons of places to choose?

re resort hotels: AK is close to AS (Boma), or BC (Cape May-no charactars @ dinner), any of the DTD places.

Ohana is a kid pleaser if you can get it & quick access to MK

While you said no charactars, have you considered a breakfast buffet (Cape May?) to fuel up for the water parks then just a CS in MK that night?

I would not drive because to me part of being on vacation is NOT getting behind the wheel of a car!

Take the bus from the water park back to your resort. I would also recommend an ADR at an MK-area resort, then just take the bus from your resort to MK. From there you can take the monorail to the Poly if you can get ADRs at Kona (order off the menu) or Ohana (no characters but they bring the food to your table: apps & sides come family style, servers are constantly walking around with skewers of meats & shrimp so you choose whatever you like, as much as you want; some activities for kids like rolling coconuts, hula hoops, etc). Or take the boat from the MK dock to Ft. Wilderness and go to Trails End (non-character buffet, ribs & fried chicken, a bit less expensive than most other buffets if you are paying OOP). Take the monorail or boat back to MK after dinner and enjoy the rest of your evening, then bus back to your resort when you're done.

Ohana's at the Polynesian would be a great choice. The food is really good (quick too) and the little ones will be entertained. Kona has a little better quality food, but would not be the best dining experience with little ones.

Well I had talked myself into the Ohana based on several suggstions here, but it was all booked up for the night I wanted to go. I can still get into Kona though. I kind of nervous about the food and if my family would like it. I'm sure I will cause I like everything.
