I know that Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach used to be closed 1-2 months a year for refurbishment. Can anyone tell me what months each are closed? Thanks!!!

Yes, usually December. It's much too cold to swim in Florida in December ;)

We have gone swimming at WDW in December. Not a problem for us northerners.

Sure you do ~ that's how we can tell who the *tourists* are :Pinkbounc

Do you know how far out they do the refubishment schedules? We would like to do TL and BB in late Oct..

We can tell who the southerners are here in the North. When the temp is 75 and they tell us how cold it is.

I also try to remember that if it wasn't for tourists there wouldn't be a WDW. :)

I would think you'll be ok with visiting those parks in October, but a call to Disney wouldn't hurt (as the time gets closer).

You won't catch me up North, so I have no idea if they chill when it reaches 75.

As for there not being a WDW without tourists, I'm not so sure. But they certainly can be amusing and we do our best to make them feel at home.

Your posting makes tourists sound like second class citizens. I am sure Disney doesn't have a problem with all the tourists visiting their parks.

Sorry to hear you don't plan to visit the North. They are some of the most beautiful parts of the US.

Traditionally to the OP, Blizzard Beach is closed from Oct. to Dec, then TL is closed December to Feb.

I just checked the WDW site and it doesn't show yet when they will be closed this year.

Second class citizens? Hardly. You're reading too much into it.. you need to relax ;)

As for visiting up north, I lived in Chicago and traveled all over North America. I'm happy and content down here, thank you

To myfairygodmother and minnieandmickey:

I believe both parks used to be open in October. Then BB would be closed for 2 months, followed by TL for 2 months.

Question: do any of you like/dislike Wet n Wild?

I'm planning an October trip for the new Mission: Space, and the EPCOT Food & Wine, and both TL and BB. Just love that fun in the sun! :bounce:

I thought so...checked the DIS historical hours site and BB was closed in early part of 2003 not TL

This link might help:

This helps me redeem my tag as well....;)

As for North versus South, that was settled a long time ago

Thanks

I just did a search at the link provided by jaysue as if I were going to be at WDW from 10/01/03 through 12/31/03. Wouldn't that be nice. :) Scrolling down I see it looks like TL will be closed from 10/31 to 12/31 and BB will be open during that time. I guess I got mixed up.

Anyway, it seems both water parks will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM everyday until the end of October.

Have a great time at the water parks :) TL is our personal favorite, but both are really great. Each one has it's own special flavor ;)
