Water Park "RD"

We'll spend about half a day (maybe almost 3/4 of a day) at Typhoon Lagoon. Our family will LOVE the shark experience, the kids are already excited about it, and I've read it gets busy pretty quickly and that it should be the first thing we try to do.

We're going the second week in June.

Since we hope to leave Typhoon Lagoon shortly after lunch, we plan to "rope drop" it to have the best bet of catching as many fun rides as we can after the sharks.

For real rope drops, I know I need to be at the park by 8:10-15 for a 9 a.m. opening. I'm assuming that's not the case for a water park...but if someone could offer insight about what "rope drop" at a water park might look like, I'd be very happy! Thanks!

We try to arrive about 20 minutes before opening, and that's always been plenty of time. There will be people I front of you, but not too many!

Just be ready. The shark reef is COLD!!!!!! My hubby refuses to do it and my kids had to be coaxed in. It's FREEZING!

Absolutely do the shark reef early. As the day progresses all the swimmers stir the sediment and not as clear later on. It's cold but never gets warmer so head on in!

Glad to know 20 min early should be good to get a spot and enjoy a few rides and the sharks early.

The water parks are not as big of a RD destination, I got there at 9 last time I went early and had no problem parking or getting in.That was a Wednesday though.
The water was about 75 on Saturday afternoon. Not too bad IMO, it is a pretty short swim. I thought the showers were colder. Make sure the kids have used a snorkel before. My son got upset and couldn't breath correctly, so he didn't do it. My wife had problems as well because her glasses didn't fit inside the goggles. She can't see without them so she didn't go either.
