My husband is a bit overweight and says he will not go to a water park because of this!! Can anyone tell me if you he would be allowed to wear a T-shirt (along with his bathing suit!!) on Disney water park rides?? We are in our 50s and he has never been to a water park. I have not been in more than a decade. I had such a great time the three times I did go and would really LOVE to go again!! Thanks for your help!!

Yes, he can wear a t-shirt, I've seen quite a few people do this.
Have fun!:sunny:

Yes, you can wear a t-shirt- and tell him not to worry about his weight. There are people of every shape and size at the waterparks and everyone is having too much fun to care about how anyone else looks in a bathingsuit. Have fun! -Steph

Also - my sons (who are not overweight) wear their t-shirts so they do not burn from the sun. One of them is very fair. Even if he is worried about his weight - tell him not to. Concentrate on having a good time - everyone else is.;)

He will have a wonderful time....with or without his T-shirt! And we strongly suggest Blizzard Beach!
Enjoy!!!

I agree with ilovestitch 100%. Tell him not to worry.
My DH, who is a little fluffy & in his 50's, wears his t-shirt & has a grand old time. BB is his favorite & he's not remotely a water park kind of guy. Once I got him there, he wanted to go back every day!

Thanks everyone for your responses and suggestions!!! My husband read them along with me and I think I almost have him convinced!!! Thanks again!!!!

Here's another ow 50's I'm female going in Oct. to BB. My dh is ow also and if he were going with us, he would be at the park too. I wouldn't miss BB for anything. I don't give a rip what people think. I'm havin' a great time with my grandkids! Tell dh to go and just have fun!

One of the reasons I love Disney so much is that no one pays much attention to anyone else's attire, appearance, etc. I think everyone is focused on their own plans. Don't worry about what someone else will think as they will be too busy doing their own thing! Also, wearing a wet t-shirt over your bathing suit sure is a good way to keep cool between slides!

We have passes for the water parks and love them.

Please tell him that lots of folks where T-shirts. I do sometimes just to help with the sun.

Also, not to worry. Lots of us are a bit over weight. Some more than others but tell him he will fit right in.

We do the water parks every trip and love them... my brother usually wears a t-shirt to avoid sunburn, as do many others.

The only requirement they have is that you do not wear anything with metal (buckles, snaps, zippers...) on the water slides. Other than that, you can wear anything you want. Last year, I remember seeing 2 muslim women in the wave pool at TL that were completely covered from head to toe and wearing head scarfs, so I don't think your husband should feel uncomfortable wearing a t-shirt!

The members of my family (myself 44, DH 39, DS10, DS7) always wear a swim shirt (a shirt made out of swimsuit fabric) when we go to BB because of our fair skin (we are from the Pacific NW). Wal-Mart has shirts made out of polyester that are similar to swim shirts that are inexpensive (under $10) and that would dry faster than a t-shirt and won't cling as much. I was amazed when we went to Hawaii this year how many more people are wearing t-shirts and swim shirts. Probably 50% of the kids were wearing a swim shirt. No problems wearing a shirt at BB! Have a great time.

www.leisurepro.com has swim shirts for $24.95 with sizes from Small to XXX-Large. I've ordered items from them before with no problems.

We are a large group of extended family (3 generations) from single digits to mid 60's. Several of us are "fluffy". Not only are shirts okay, but some of us ladies wear nylon shorts over our suits. Comfortable and protects our suits on the slides.

You'll have a great time - don't miss the family raft ride at BB ! :sunny:
