Water Park Question

We are spending 2 weeks in New Smyrna Beach in June, and have 2 days at MK planned, 2 nights at POR. It's only just over an hour's drive from New Smyrna to Orlando, so we are planning to come back for a day during our 2nd week to do Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon. We visit every year, but we've never done the water parks before. I'm assuming since we aren't going during the days we will originally be onsite, we don't want to add the water parks and more option, we just purchase the water park tickets separately, right? How does that work? Can I but them online, and will they link to our magic bands? Or is it an e-ticket we print off? Or would we be better off to buy them when we arrive? We leave on June 13, so not sure it that's enough time if they have to be mailed to us. Thanks for any suggestions!

I bought ours online for our upcoming trip and linked them to the magic bands but you can just buy them at the gate when you get there if you want.

If you're within 14 days of first using your theme park tickets, you absolutely want the WP&M option. I don't know the exact numbers, but it's a better deal than buying separately.

Yes, the extra admissions for Water Parks and More don't expire immediately once your Park Tickets are consumed or your resort stay is completed. They last for 14 days after first use, and I am certain it would be cheaper to add them as Water Park Fun and More rather than buying at the gate.

Actually, I think if you are just planning to go to the water park for 1 day it is a few dollars cheaper to buy the water park tickets separately. If you were planning to go twice or use some of the other options like Disney Quest or something then the WPF&M option would be cheaper.

ETA: $58 for an adult 1 day ticket to a water park. $64 to add the WPF&M option. So, it's up to you really. It isn't a big price difference.

The WPF&M would give you 2 water park days. For just a couple of buck more you could hit a water park before you head to beach then visit again a week later. It would give you a chance to see both parks.

I didn't realize WPFM was that much. I think because I'm usually adding to to a Park Hopper already and that brings the cost down that I didn't realize the true base price. I think the OP indicated that they wanted to do both water parks. Isn't there a Water Park hopper now too as well?

WP&M would give you two water park days for $64 though, right?

^Yes, it will give you one Water Park (or DisneyQuest, MiniGolf, etc.) admission per park day on your base ticket, so in OP's case it will give two.

Okay, so let me make sure I have this straight - I can add the WP & M option for $64 dollars per person, and will have 2 days I can go to either water park during the 14 days after I first use my original tickets at MK? What if I did Blizzard Beach in the am and Typhoon Lagoon in the pm? Is that counted as 2 separate admissions? That's what we were going to do for with just the one day pass - can I do that? For about $25 more for the 4 of us it would probably be worth it to get the WP & M have the option of 2 days. Even if we end up not using them both we're not out much money.

I am pretty sure that, as with the theme park tickets, you can't do that. One water park admission per day. They won't let you use two admissions on the same day.

I do not know if there is a water park hopper option or not.

I thought the wp&m was simply number of admissions - in this op's case 2 - it wouldn't matter if they were on the same day or not. I could swear back in 2009 we did BB in the am & DQ in the pm?

A single day water park ticket is a water park hopper. You can visit both parks with your one day ticket. The WP&M ticket is entries, not days, so in order to do both in a single day, it would use 2 entries.

Ahhh, great clarification! Thanks!!

Interesting. Learn something new every day.

I'm not sure about in 2009 but in 2014 DH and I tried to use 2 "entires" each to play both sides of the winter summer land mini golf and we couldn't. Only able to use one for the day (so not the full 36 holes)
We didnt know and DH was less than impressed in my lack of knowledge about this

Thanks everyone for your help! I think we'll just go with the regular water park passes so we can do one park in the morning and one in the afternoon. Going with the WP&M sounds like we would have to do them on 2 different days.

According to mousesavers, a very reputable source, you can use more than one entitlement with the WP&M on the same day.

Yes, I agree that you should be able to use them on the same day, however, if you want to do just one day then it seems cheaper to just buy the regular pass. The WPF&M ticket offers you no advantage in this case.

Ha, yes I forgot about that part!
