Water park and park tickets

I’m sure this has been asked before but I want to make sure I completely understand before I do anything!

I bought a 7 day park hopper + tickets. Dec 2-12 are the valid days. I’m trying to figure out if using a day at the water park will count towards my park passes.

I’m staying on Disney and wanted to do the water park on Dec 1 (so I would change my ticket days) but I won’t use it if it counts against my park days (as I want my full 7 days of parks).

From what I’m reading I can do the water parks without it impacting my park tickets.

You’re correct - the water park admissions are separate from the park admissions.
