Ok another question..we are flying..anyone know if we can take water yet? I have a 3month old infant who is formula feed..anyone who has flown lately? I am hoping we can take his water and powder formula..I do not want to change him all of a sudden..thank u!

Ok as of 3 weeks ago I could take water on the plane if you buy it after the security checkpoint in one of the shops. I think they put a sticker on it.

However I do remember that baby formula in certain amounts was allowed. I dont know if it has to be premixed though. It might or else you can buy the bottle of water in one of the stores.

You can take the formula as long as your toddler/baby is traveling with you!

I'm still trying to decide if they'll let me take my empty sippy cup for my toddler... it says no empty containers over 3 oz... but it excludes formula and breast milk (however it does say you should claim them at security and then they will screen it)...

So anyone care to comment about a sippy cup that's empty and not a bottle?????

Think I can bring it on? Our flight will be long and messy if I can't!

I did not even think about sippy cup being an issue..we have to bring one for DD 4 so she cna drink during take off/landing...I wanted to carry on the baby stuff.in case it got lost..because that is very important!! Thanks for your info! I don't mind taking an empty sippy cup..we can fill it on the plane if we have to..
Can we check water or formula in our luggage? O the joys of flying!!

YES, you can check any liquids you want.

I really hope they don't take my sippy. DD will make a MESS of herself without it!

Oh good..that will save us a fortune in bottled water!! Maybe I'll bring an extra bottle for DD to use for the pressure?? Just in case they don't let the sippy cup on..can we take snacks? THANK YOU!

Flew last august. Empty sippy cups were ok..

Also let me take on the gerber 4 oz juice bottles. I had them out ahead of time, they saw that they were sealed and in original 4 pack package and let me take them with no problem.

The ones that have the plastic screw on tops.

I did try a water bottle in DS4 back pack and they did not say any thing. it was one of the small ones. I think it was about a 4 oz size. Will a pull top on it..

Can only try..

Hi All!
We just flew last week, from San Diego. They allowed me to bring the babies sippies of juice, and one juice box per child, and one go-gurt per child through security (for a 7 hour flight, can you believe that!) They took my bottles of water, but I was able to buy them as soon as we got through security for 2.75 a bottle! What a rip-off! (I'm still nursing, so I DO need the water!)
Good Luck!

You can take empty water bottles through security and then fill them from the drinking fountain. We did this last month and had no problems (and the empty Dasani water bottles were 20 oz). Snacks are fine - we even took Uncrustables for the kids.

I'm curious how they do this. The website I saw said NO CONTAINERS over 3 ounces... not even half used tubes of toothpaste, water bottles, hairspray, anything. The only exception it had was for Baby bottles... breast milk containers.

Yeah if you buy it from security checkpoint it should be fine. Thats how it was when I went. Besides mothers with babies who need formula are allowed to bring what the need on the plane. But check with your airline before you go. Each airline has its own precedures.

I believe the distinction is that a 1/2 used tube of toothpase, still has toothpaste in it. An empty water bottle has nothing in it.

but I suspect that this may be up to the discression of the security person at that time. I honestly can't remember if we took an empty sippy cup last plane ride. I know I usually always pack one in our carry one, so if I did, that's where it would be.

I may try the empty water bottle thing next time and see what happens. There should be no reason you can't take one through empty. And if they say no, you just toss it in the trash.

I also pack a lot of snacks and didn't ahve trouble getting them through, but none were liquid.

I'd be careful with the uncrustables. I've heard of a number of people getting stopped with pb&J in particular because of the jelly being "liquid".

I have an email in to the TSA to get a more definative answer, as my DD doesn't fall into the Toddler range anymore, but a sippy is a good way to go to help with the ears popping and she still likes to have one with water in it to go to sleep with at night, and we're taking a late night flight.

I called our airline this morning..frustrating..not the airline but all the you cannot take..so we can take bottles FULL of mixed formula..no size limit and all the powder that we want..no sippy cups over 3oz, she said a lot of people take the 3oz juice boxes..also any item for baby is ok.so we can take diaper cream and medicine, just no liquid...she had to check because the diaper cream is over 3oz..I just have to take it out so they can see it. So I will take an extra bottle for DD4..and empty out the formula for her..she needs it for take off/landing..I would love to take her sippy cup..but o well..I wonder if I fill sippy cup with formula??? hmm ..not sure..I am going to pack water and check it in..buying it will be a fortune down there..ok thanks for lisiting to me vent a bit..SHe also said that there is no way to heat the bottles..I hope they sell room temp water!:wizard:

But we are going to the happiest place on earth..and I can't wait..alll this hassle will be worth it!

we flew last august and we took ready to serve formula. it wasn't a problem at all. my bottles were empty and i opened a can of ready to serve when we got on the plane.:)

At the international terminal at O'hare we asked TSA about empty H2O bottles and they said it was fine to take them. This was Jan. 4th

At Midway on Jan. 26th, we asked TSA this again and again no problem. I also asked about the uncrustables and again they said no problem.

We also had no problems again with empty bottles at Orlando (MCO).

I suppose it could depend on who is working at the time you are there, but I'm just relaying my own personal experience.
