Water Main Break

I read that there has been another water main break at the CR. This is the second one I have heard of in '04. Several guests evacuated. Disney's concession to the displaced, "you can stay elsewhere for free." I'm sure there is more to it than that but that is what the report I read said.

Seems to be like it is time for a major rehab on the old favorite.

My husband is at the CR now. He has been there since Sunday for a meeting that his company holds every year. He is in the tower on the SSL side (ofcourse, why can't I get that view?) and he heard the water running on his way to a reception. He told me they had to evacuate the Bay Lake side. Crazy, huh?

Hey Tink, as you can see from my counter I will be at CR Saturday. I have spoken with two people at CR about the situation and assured me (somewhat) that things are back to normal. Since your husband is there now, can you shed any more light on the situation? Is everything back to normal? Was it really significant? Any damage? etc.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

From what I understand, about 80 rooms were affected, from the 12th floor down to the 5th. Disney has made arrangements to move the guests in those rooms to other locations.

Considering the age and design of the hotel, a refurb does sound like a good idea.
