Water is not a snack

Seriously. Water is not a snack, unless you just travelled 1200 miles and get out of your car and realize its 102 outside with 90% humidity. Then you are happy to use up 10 or so snacks as waters until you can get back off premise to buy a case of water.

My tip #2 is. Buy a case of water before you enter DW. I told the gas station attendent as I purchased my case of bottled water, "How much for these 24 snacks" as he laughed he said about $4.

Fresh fruit is another one. Buy some prior to entering DW. You won't regret it.

Must agree with you on that one. On or off the dining plan it pains me to use a snack credit or pay, at Disney prices, for water.

We always get it by the case off property and then take a small cooler to the parks. When my mother is with us it works out great. She needs a scooter so we can load her up with more water.

I totally agree. Paying that much for bottled water or using a snack credit. We always pack us a few waters in our backpack and save the snacks for something good to eat.popcorn::

There is free water all over Disney, maybe not the best tasting but free.

That is correct and you don't need to use the bubblers. Any CS restaurant serving fountain drinks will give you a cup of ice water for free. Oftentimes we we'll just ask for an ice water in addition to our sodas, but I've also just gone up to the counter and asked for the ice water. Then we pour it into our reusable water bottles for the day.

We take a bottle with us into the parks each day, then refill the bottle at the fountain or as said get a glass of ice water at a counter service. I also carry the little water flavor pkts just to change it up a bit. We rarely use our snack credits until the last day. So busy having fun we forget about snacking and usually are pretty full from actual food.

We toss out the empty bottle before returning back to our resort, where we can get all the free soda with our refillable mugs, so I agree why use a snack credit for water???

We always ship bottle water to the resort via costco ($7 total).

We love the DDP and have learned over the years to use snack credits wisely. Bagels, dole whips, rootbeer floats and so one - more value for your $.

If we need water we bring if from the room (the stuff we shipped) or just buy it.

We plan to stay onsite and use the dining plan our next trip, but I don't know much about it yet.

Wow I agree, water definitely is not a snack! But I have a question, we just booked last night and were able to get the DDP in our package, never used it before. What exactly CAN you get as a snack? On the notification we received it says fresh fruit, icecream bar and soft drinks. Anything else?

Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one! We went 8/17-8/27. It was ranging from 100-110degrees. We were on the DxDDP. With 8 snack credits a day to use, I was happily buying water or frozen lemonades or poweraids with our snack credits. I'm not lugging 8 water bottles into the parks. Worked wonderful for us. After I got over the thought of "wasting" a snack credit on it (we were on the reg DDP, last time, different story then) I was all for it! LOVE the DXDDP!!!!

Just ask for a cup of ice water at any CS restaurant. Totally free, and much better than buying water.

You can get so many great things for a snack credit. The first time we did the dining plan we bought wather and chips and stuff - what a waste.

Now we know better - Rootbeer floats and dole whips at aloha island, bagels and danishs for breaskfast for the main street bakery, single scoop ice cream cones from the ice cream shop.

Check out the dining plan forums and you can get some great snack credit ideas.

Happy eating.

See, now I don't agree - maybe it doesn't make 'value' sense, but I'll take a nice, clean, yummy bottle of water over a sugar-laden, calorie-bender most any day. We're on the DxDP and I can't see eating/drinking two sugary "treats" a day in addition to two desserts. (Mind you, can't see eating two desserts a day period!) :rolleyes1

I would prefer not to gain 15lbs while there! LOL. AND stay hydrated!

I get the frozen chocolate-covered banana. It's the consistency of ice-cream, but, when it melts, it's still a banana, not a pool of liquid. And, it's fruit!

On the dining plan, I usually get a CS breakfast, and I take a bottle of water and a bottle of juice into the parks with me. You can get both with a breakfast. Saves me from having to buy water every day, or use a snack credit. :)

As far as getting counter service water or refilling bottles at fountains for free...great idea for those who can stand the taste and stomach the water. Orlando water makes me ill.

Where can you buy the frozen chocolate covered bananas?
