Water hoses provided?

We bring our Brita pitcher even when we stay at DVC. I don't like the "floaters" in my water! Other than to use it for drinking, is there any reason a tent-er would need a water hose? Sure, I can imagine having to clean up a little but is a hose necessary?

I know there are a couple of tent campers here that bring a portable kitchen that has a sink!! So yes, they would need a hose. As for anyone else??? I dunno, I never did, but then I didn't cook at the campsite when tent camping.

We bring our own hose. It's the white drinking water hose. You can find them at camper shops and I think Lowes carries it occasionally. I agree, stay away from the garden hoses. The white drinking water hoses prohibit algae and bacteria growth and no toxins like the garden ones. Most of the hoses I have seen, will have a blurb (sometimes in tiny, tiny print) about "not safe for drinking water." Or "safe for drinking water."

We have the camp kitchen, so we use the hose for that. Usually for rinsing mugs and quick cleanups. You don't want to use the sites hose for that. It's nasty.

I usually take 5 gallon bottles of water with us. Qty usually depends on the length of our stay.

I have considered getting one of those inline water filters for the pop up. Do they work? Would it make the Florida water better than I heard it is?

I use one of these http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm?skunum=12874&src=SRQB when I am hooked up to the campground supply. We still use the bottled water for drinking, coffee, tea, OJ, etc. As long as there is a good charcoal filter in the housing that do a pretty effective job. I don't have a filter permanently installaed in the trailer so I usually only use water in the holding tank for washing and the toilet when on the road.

a filter makes the water tolerable.....

We also bought a ton of those single serving kool-aid packets to help mask the taste....lol. I think I will get a filter. Some help is better than none. We do buy cases of water from the store too.

We tent camped 3 years ago. I bought four 3 gallon water jugs with a spigot on them and brought water from home. I got them on Ebay really cheap.

Thats a good idea.. we got them too but for the bottled water.. after our visit in 2004 and we stayed in a vacation house.. we will never again drink the water in fl! LOL
