Water dispenser on the Wonder

First-time cruiser and I'm trying to decide if I should bring/buy bottled water. I will be going on the Wonder in Aug and read there are a number of water dispensers around the ship, but I would like to know are they on the soda fountains or a separate dispenser? Is the spout protected from contact by the water bottle or cup?

While I'm not a germophobe, the reason for my strange request is I've seen too many people drink from their water bottles and then place the water bottle against the spout. Yuck!! I've seen my fair share of adults, as well as kids do this. Apologies if I just ruined water dispensers for you :crazy2:

They are part of the soda fountains and there are signs that request you use the provided paper cups to get soda/water and then pour that into your personal cup/bottle if you wish. I can't guarantee people do this, but they try to make it happen. You can always fill your bottles from your bathroom sink, same water.

It's on the soda machine and no, there's no protection. I would bring bottled water. Just my recommendation.

You can also refill from the tap in your stateroom. We bring a couple water bottles and keep some cold i the fridge and interchange them throughout the day.

Thanks all. Good to know the water from the stateroom is the same.

One thing I think I remember (not 100% sure if it's DCL or RCL or both) is that the sink in the bathroom isn't very deep. I bring bike (squirt type) bottles and I can't fit one totally underneath the spout so I end up using one bottle to fill one to the top and the other just doesn't get filled.

I use one of the glasses in the room to fill my bottle from the sink.

You put your (DCL supplied, new, clean) cup under the spigot and push the "push" button. Yes, people will put their cups all the way up against the fitting around the spigot.

Like others, I just fill my water bottle in my room.
