Water Delivery?

Hi All

We are headed "home" in a week....to the BC that is! Im trying to figure out the most cost efficient to get 2 cases of water to our room. I don't want to use garden grocer because I am packing our cereal/plastic bowls and buying the milk at BC's market place. We really don't need too much and frankly the upcharge on their groceries is crazy.

So....someone on one of the other boards suggested going thru Amazon (free shipping and all) but then someone else chimmed in that if you do this it goes to the convention center instead of the front desk and ups/fed ex charge a fee? I don't have too much of a problem with this accept that I have no idea of what the fee would be.

Someone else said ship it your self good old US mail....but wouldn't that be more expensive because they charge by weight?

Does anyone know if the market place just sells cases of water? Its crunch time; so I've got to get this done! ;)

Staples offers free delivery if you join their preferred customers program. But I'm not sure about the whole "convention Center" thing.

The last I checked, the delivery charge at the BC was $10.

What worked for us on our last trip was to buy gallon sized bottles of water and use refillable bottles. Hydroflasks will keep your water ice cold for the whole day - even in August!

This wound up being cost effective and it was helpful to have the bottles to fill from QS places as well.

If you are able to go that route, the MP sells gallons of water. I am planning that strategy for our next trip as the items we need are now comparable in price at the MP and GG.

Thanks so much...what is MP? and hydroflasks?

Is Costco not an option? It's what we always use, and it's always by far the best deal for us, too. (we always order 2 cases, comes to under $15 shipped, total.

I don't know about this but I read about it here on the boards. I am going to look into it for our August trip:
If you have a Target Red card then shipping is free plus the extra 5% discount.
The suggestion was to ship cereal, snacks, sunscreen and water using Target. If anyone has done that could you please report how well it worked?

You can use Target, Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc. to have anything you want shipped to the hotel. There are two issues I know of that can create a little bump in the road on this.

First, if you are staying at a hotel with a convention center (BC, CR, CS, BW and possibly others I don't know about), you will pay a service delivery fee. I believe it is $10, but that is information from a few years ago, so I would verify it.

Second, unlike a GG delivery that comes directly to the lobby, these items go to a central delivery area. When GG brings in an order, the CM who receives it will immediately refrigerate any cold items. With a shipment from a big box store, you can't order any cold items, and even if you could, they would not be refrigerated. I believe you have to go to the convention area to pick up your package as opposed to having bell services bring it up like GG.

I'm sure it works out fine, but those are a couple of things to look into!

I ordered from Staples and had a case of water delivered to BCV and was not charged anything for delivery by Staples or Disney.

Do you know how it was shipped? If it goes USPS it will go to the lobby, UPS or FedEx goes to the convention center. Were you able to pick it up in the lobby? That would be great info to know if they don't charge for Staples deliveries!

I will check to see if I still have the confirmation email from Staples. I do remember that it was delivered the day after I ordered it. Also, we used ME so I called down and asked them to bring up the case of water when they brought up the luggage.
