Water bottles? Is the water yucky at DL?

We usually use Brita water bottles at WDW and never have any issues with water taste, but is the water horrible at DL? Do you think we would still be able to use the Brita bottles and just get ice/water at our hotel room before we head to the parks or is the water undrinkable?

I have never noticed any problem with water at DLR. At WDW, yes. But not at DLR.

Never had a problem with the water at DLR. (And I'm a "water snob"...I won't even boil pasta in the tapwater here in AZ )

You'll save yourself alot of $ refilling your water bottles back at the hotel.

I think the water has a funny taste. Not a bad taste, just not what I'm used to. I still drink it. But at the First Aid Station they have filtered cold water that you can refill your bottles at.

We get cups of water and ice from many of the CS restaurants in DLR a lot. It is good-I've never had an issue with it. The water that the restaurants serve, to my understanding, is filtered. Sometimes we drink it plain, sometimes my DD10 adds one of the flavor tubes to it. We rarely buy soda (only once in awhile)and never buy bottled water at DLR. I usually bring in my own cans of Diet Coke along with a styrofoam cup, especially if we will have a stroller with us-somewhere to hold my cup! ;)

BTW , I also lived in Anaheim for awhile and their tap water is fine too. :goodvibes

IMO the unfiltered water at DLR is drinkable, but not the best tasting water in the world.

I’ve heard that the First Aid station in DL (next to the Baby Care Center) has a large water fountain (with an extended spout), and you can refill your bottles there with cold filtered water.

I've heard that you can refill your water bottles with ice and water at Rancho del Zocalo.

I've gotten small cups of ice water at the French Market, but I wasn't sure if it was filtered.

HTH :earsboy:

IMO the water is ok. Certainly not as bad as the surrounding area.

Getting ice from the CS Restaurants is something we've done alot of too! In fact, I bring the stainless or Nalgene bottles from home and get ice when we stop for lunch and then either fill up with plain water from a fountain or add a flavor tube.

We also pack in all our own soda for myself and DH and juice/milk for my son. So much cheaper that way!:thumbsup2

I never buy beverages at DL! Way too expensive and I would rather spend it on yummy treats!

I've noticed a really salty taste to the water from the CS places sometimes, but not always. It's weird, and probably from their softener, I'd think.

Other than that, the water is fine. I live in Vegas though, and our water is awful, so take that with a grain of salt.

Really? Really? I seriously think this is a terrible question to ask on Earth Day. The water at the park is just fine.

I like it and my normal water is from a well and tastes pure enough that people compare it to bottled water. I only know one place where the water's flavor is better than at my home, but its a two day hike into the winlderness. I've never gone thirtsy in Anaheim and I think I've tried almost every drinking fountain in the parks.

We do this as well..I get tired of carrying water bottles around.

Im a very picked water user and I have to say, now thinking about it(had never crossed my mind), I have never tasted anything bad with the water in Disneyland. I won't even drink our water here in the Rocky Mountains of Canada! and would much rather drink what DL has than anything else I have ever drank.
We usually bring water bottles with us that we regularly refill through the day.

Funny how everyone's taste is different. I live in SoCal and I don't like the taste of the water at DL. I can tolerate it if it's ice cold. You can get a free cup of ice water from any restaurant/food stand that has a soda fountain w/o purchasing anything, so I bring a full bottle and when it's empty, I get ice water. The water at WDW is much more tolerable to me, so I just rely on the "free" water when we're there.

I think the Disneyland water is tolerable but I usually put flavor packs in it. Since I drive, I actually like to bring a gallon of water to the hotel to drink there because I don't like the taste of hotel water well enough to drink very much of it, and then I drink a lot less than I'm used to and get dehydrated.

This is exactly what I do. I ask for ice water at any counter service and its free. I bring in packets of Crystal Light, Cool Aid, or Ice tea and Its a wonderful drink. I too would rather spend my extra 2 wasted meals money a day on something else fun.

I didn't like the taste of the tap water in DLH as compared to the water here in Sydney - I ended up leaving buckets of ice from the hotel ice machine out to melt overnight and put that in our water bottles, it tasted much better.

either way, your drinking tap water anyways, so might as well just ignore the taste. :)

Yeah we're from Oregon and really Hate the water in Disneyland. I suppose if you're used to it (flouride)--it's ok.

I use the crystal light flavor packets and it's just fine. My son who is autistic relies heavily on water bottles we bring and was fine with the nurses staion to fill up. It's good to know about the ice though. Anywhere else you can get the ice free? I've heard all counter restaurants-- but do you have to be a customer there?

I always stop in a for a cold cup of quite drinkable water at RdZ. It's as good as (or bad as, depending on your POV) bottled water, I'd say. It's nice to get a little shade too and take a two-minute break. Love it there. You can sit at a table and watch the riders return on BTM.

I don't think it is the fluoride you taste, (not even sure we have fluoride in our water) it is the chlorine. San Diego has some of the worst water anywhere so no one drinks "tap" water. So I haven't tried DL water. They may get their water from Arrowhead mountain which is pretty good.

DL water isn't so bad. Not great, but not bad. Not at all like that dreadful water at WDW...yuck! :scared: That stuff is like drinking liquid sulfur.
