Anyone else LOVE this movie? My 14 year old is saying,

Hey mom theres Sandy :rotfl:

I was infatuated with Olivia and with Xanadu in general. I saw the movie several times in local theaters. When I had to drive across town to see it at one of the last theaters that was showing it, I did. When the movie first came out on VHS tape (for $79.99), I bought it. Two weeks later, the movie came out on a new fangled media called LaserDisk. I bought one of the first Laserdisk players and another copy of the movie. When the film came out on DVD, I bought it. I have 45 RPM records of most of the music from the film. Somewhere I have a Xanadu book that has behind the scenes photos. I was truly hooked on that film.

My infatuation has waned and now I simply like the movie and the music from the film. I've moved on to other obsessions, like paying for college for my two kids. Maybe I can sell some of that Xanadu stuff....

Wow!!

I wanted TO BE Olivia Newton John when I was about 11 or 12. I've also got the old records from Grease and Xanadu! I just always "knew" she would marry John Travolta (sniff sniff!).

Thanks to the DVR I now have it recorded!

I owned EVERY ONJ album she made! Loved the movie, too. I watched it a couple years ago... it's really bad. But I still love ONJ, and Gene Kelly, too!

What station was it on?

That was the first "grown - up" movie I ever saw in the theater. I loved it! I couldn't get enough of it and made my poor parents take me several times. I remember renting it for a slumber party (we had to rent the VCR player too :rotfl: ) and my friends and I kissed the TV at the end because we were so in love with the main guy. :lmao: Thanks for the memories! :lovestruc

HAHAHHA!!! It was on the other day and I DVR'd it.:lmao: Yes, I love the movie but I like the music and Gene Kelley too.

I enjoy all the back stories on that movie. One in particular is that Gene Kelly agreed to do the movie but only on the condition that he wouldn't dance. I don't know if this is true or not, but I'm glad that he did eventually dance in that film. I marvel at the way he moves and the way that Olivia Neutron Bomb tries so hard to keep up with him. Not to take away from her dancing abilities, but you can tell that Mr. Kelly was a natural when it came to dancing.

I LOVE that there's a Xanadu thread!!! I love that movie!!! It's so bad it's good really. :)

OMG!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie! Don't tell anybody, but when that movie came out, I made my mom take me to see it every day for 2 weeks. :rolleyes1

Wonder if there are any copies for sale on eBay.

Xanadu...Xanaduuuuu...now we are here in Xanadu...

:rotfl: Between pretending to be Kira from Xanadu or Lexie from Ice Castles, my roller skates got quite a workout! ;)

I have to agree with the "So bad that's it's good" comment, although I do enjoy watching it.

When it first came out, we called it, "Xanadoesn't".

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that paid $80 for the VHS when it came out! :rolleyes1

I love that ONJ met her future hubby Matt on that movie. He was (and still is) DREAMY!

I think I have my VHS copy on ebay now. LOL
