Can anyone give me a current strategy for sitting at Cove Bar for World of Color? We went last year at a crowded time (and while the expansion was still under construction) and I recall the CMs saying that you had to get a table something like 3 hours before showtime. Is that still accurate?

How long before the show begins should we get in line if we want to watch the show from the bar?

This past week we went by around 3pm and they were estimating the line was over an hour. We went back around 6pm and they were turning people away. They stop serving an hour before the park closes, and WOC was scheduled for 8:15 with an 8pm closing. I'm not even sure they let the people who were there stay for WOC. I didn't hang around to find out.

Wow, that place has gotten popular. I didn't think about WoC running after closing. We had gone when the park was open late.

I did this for the first time back in May. We check-in at the Cove Bar around 5:40 pm and were seated about 90 minutes later. DCA closed at 9:00 pm that night and the server came around a little before 8:00 pm announcing last call (for both food and drinks). He said that they stop seating guests around 7:45 pm (about 15 minutes before last call) and take a final round of orders just before 8:00 pm. He told us we were welcome to remain at our table for World of Color (at 9:00 pm).

Thanks for the tip. That sounds like a really long time to wait, I guess it is very popular.
