I haven't been in Fantasyland at night since all the new attractions and Storybook Circus were added. So where is a good vantage point on that side of the castle. I'm most interested in riding rides and just stopping to get a nice view. Don't want to get in the crush of the hub. Is that possible? I know the view is not optimal, but is there a best spot?

And is there anywhere you can hear the show music?

Right across from the entrance to BOG is great, you just have to pivot, some fireworks will go off from the castle but most will be behind the Beasts castle

I have seen some gorgeous photos of the view from back there. Just know that you won't be able to see the "Celebrate the Magic" castle projection show, which is pretty cool in its own right.

After many MANY years of watching the various fireworks shows from Main Street, we finally decided to try something new on our trip this past May and watch from New Fantasyland...specifically from the cement planters/benches right by the castle wall entrance to NFL. We were able to walk up just 15 minutes from showtime and have a SEAT. No crowds (it was practically empty back there). No crush. It was bliss! A whole new perspective on the show plus we walked over to 7DMT and only had a 20 minute wait as soon as the show ended.

Our family loves to do this too as a way to stay out of the crowds and dedicate most of our time to the attractions. We have had great views by Dumbo, near BOG entrance, and also in the transition area between FL and Tomorrowland. Often we can even find a place to sit just moments before the fireworks. It's really fun when you can buy ice cream right beforehand and enjoy a private dessert party! :thumbsup2

We watched from Fantasyland for the first time last year and hated it. Definitely not for us. We didn't like having to keep turning between the castle fireworks and then the big ones behind us. I know a lot of people like it back there, but it's not for us.

If we happen to be back there we watch them from the area with the castle wall to the little mermaid. You'll have to turn your head constaintly to catch most of the fireworks

Well since I am seeing Holiday Wishes another night and have already seen Celebrate the Magic a bunch, I think this is worth a shot. That all sounds perfect. I will try those places.

Anyone know about the music?

The music is played all over

We sat on the wall across from 7dMT. It was like watching a tennis match-constantly moving your head back and forth. And it was DARK. It was an okay view. IT was worth it, though just to be able to sit down and not be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with people.

I love the view from back there-- mostly because of the space around me. It seems like every time we try to watch fireworks from Main Street, someone either 6 foot tall or that wants to hold an Ipad up in my line of sight steps right in front of me either 1 minute before the fireworks start or during the show (I'm short)- and like we are packed in like sardines. In Fantasyland, we can sit on a ledge, or stand with space around us and room to breathe with a clear view of the fireworks all around us. If we want to sit, we try to grab a spot on the ledge around where the New Fantasyland walls are right behind the carousel. We do prefer to stand because we can pivot around as things are all around us. We either stand in that same area behind the carousel, or we stand around the beginning of, or just a bit down, the path that connects old and new Fantasyland

Hmmm, never done this. Sounds fun. I really don't like the "sardines" feel of the hub.

Since nobody has mentioned it, I'd also add that it's pretty loud back there. You really feel the "bang!" of each shell. We actually kinda ducked the first time LOL.

It's my favorite place to watch the fireworks. Got to watch from the front some to catch Celebrate but nothing beats fireworks from the back of the castle. It's like you are the in the center of the fireworks, because you are. The go off in layers back there, something not obvious from the front. We stand near the gates, behind the carousel and it's no problem to turn and watch them all

We "accidentally" watched by the carousel last November and it was beautiful. Felt like you were right in the middle of the fireworks. Plan to watch from there again next month, although I like the idea of siting down on the wall by the mine train!

Since the OP stated that they knew the view wasn't optimal, and just asked for the best places to stand in Fantasyland, what's the reasoning behind your post?

OP, we love to watch from back there - surrounded by fireworks, sound, lots of space to move about, and get some great photos without tons of people in them. We stand right between BOG and 7DMT.
