Watching parade by Matterhorn, then fireworks in hub?

I read awhile ago that with the new parade, they don't let people follow it like we have observed in the past with other parades. Is that still what is happening now? We are wondering if we could watch the parade from the area by the King/Queen restrooms near Alice across from the Matterhorn, and then follow the parade to the hub (assuming it is coming from the Small World direction) and then just stay in the street part of the hub when we get there to watch the fireworks? If we can't follow the parade, I am guessing we would have to go over by Small World to watch the fireworks if we watched from that area, or choose a different area to watch the parade from.

I don't know if they are actively not allowing guests to follow the parade (out of curiosity, I wonder how would they do that?), but I do know that guests flood into the street/parade route as soon as they parade passes to get a good fireworks viewing spots, so it probably makes following the parade difficult.

If people are allowed to follow the parade, it seems like they would already be in the street before those watching as it passes?

I think you could probably do it, because even though the people on the curbs will rush forward, the CMs will also come through and make the people who were seated closer to the castle stand. But what might be easier is to get a spot on the Pixie Hollow side, then go through TL and grab a spot on Main St. There are more people around the hub rushing in for relatively less space. Whereas on Main St the sidewalk is only so deep, but the street is relatively wide and leaves more space to fill in.

Last week the made people stop and you could not follow the parade into mainstreet. If you wanted to go there you had to walk trough tomorrowland to do so.
As for the fireworks you see about 90% of the show at IASW. But it's not the same feeling and you will miss Tinkerbell and Nemo flying.

I usually watch PtN and the fireworks from Main Street, so I'm curious about this. When you say they make people walk through Tomorrowland, do you mean all the way around Tomorrowland Terrace and then out by Buzz/Star Tours or do they make folks take the Pixie Hollow pathway that exits near the entrance to Tomorrowland across from Astro Obitor?

I think we'd like to try to watch the fireworks from the street in the hub right where the parade comes into the hub since it looks like that would be the best place to see both the Matterhorn and the castle with the projections on them. So it sounds like if we want to do that, we'll probably have to stake out a parade spot early enough to be close to that street space instead of over across from the Matterhorn since they aren't allowing people to follow the parade into the hub. If we go through Tomorrowland and come out there, it doesn't look like we would have as good a view of the Matterhorn (looking at a Google map Earth view).

We actually were successful with this strategy in August. We were at the side of the Matterhorn, and we followed the parade - not terribly closely, but well enough - and got a terrific spot in the hub to watch the fireworks.

I saw them rerouted all the way around. I can't say it's permanent (because I saw and heard so many different things about the same subjects in 1 week) but last tuesday and wednesday they did this!

I think we'll try and do what Winnowill did and hopefully have the same experience, and not what Oswald23 saw last week. Crossing our fingers.

I've had it go both ways. Once, I had a FANTASTIC spot in the hub for fireworks. Another time, they closed off the path as soon as the parade passed, and we were stuck with a minimal view of the fireworks.
