We are planning dinner at Ohana one night and thought we might hang around and watch the EP and Wishes on the beach - hoping to book dinner for 20.00.

Question is, I've read that it isn't so easy to watch from the Poly these days - possibly to do with the work and so they were reserving the beach for Poly resort guests. Is this still the case? Or will we be able to watch from there?

I am guessing we will be long finished our meal as it's a 22.00 Wishes showing.

I haven't watched from the beach, but have watched from O'Hana. They play the music in the restaurant and you watch through the huge picture window - it's quite magical pixiedust: I'm sure our resrvation was at 8.00 or it might have been 8.30 It's a great night though and your girls will love the hula dancing and I'm sure you'll enjoy the Lapu lapu's :rotfl:

The EWP is at 9pm at the Poly - if you have an ADR for 8pm even with the speed they rush you through at 'Ohana it is unlikely that you will be out on the beach in time to see it as it is unlikely you will be seated on time.

No one knows what the plans are for the Poly beach once the bungalows open in April however as the beach area is reduced I wouldn't be surprised to see restrictions stay in some form. :goodvibes

I would have thought our meal would be over by 10 pm if we get a reservation for 8 pm? But perhaps we will be lucky. It does look great - we have the breakfast down too as the girls would love to see Lilo and Stitch - we met them at DLP on our first trip, but never since!

I have no idea of location, is there no way the restaurant would let us go down to the beach to see the EWP? I am not sure we'll see it otherwise - unless we are lucky enough on our cruise (if we go for Wishes one). Can you not see EWP from the window of Ohana?

Like I say, please excuse my ignorance - I have no idea about it!

Yes you can sort of see EWP from the Poly, but no music or anything. TBH I don't think it's that exciting :rolleyes1. We've never watched it properly, but have seen it pass by from the magic Kingdom and O'Hana - Maybe next time :lmao:

Thanks.

Yes - I am not planning on seeing it more than once tbh. So if I do get the cruise booked, perhaps that's the time to see it - although I have read that not all cruises will see it. Although I am not sure why not?

We did just that - had our dinner at 'Ohana and then wandered down to the beach to watch the water pageant and Hallowishes. It was fabulous. :goodvibes

Sounds lovely but doesn't sound an option any more with the work ongoing at the Poly :worried:. And as Elise says, there is a good chance the beach, as it will be reduced, will remain off bounds to non guests once the place is finished too!

You will see it from the restaurant if you are lucky enough to be near the window that looks over the lake but they won't let you go down to watch and come back. Its probably a good 10 minutes to and from the beach - as O'hana is upstairs.

The way the restaurant is located there is probably less than quarter of the tables that can see the lake from them.

BTW Breakfast is far better than dinner there ;)

Thanks. We will just see what we get/can do then. It won't be our only opportunity to see Wishes, but might be the only to see EWP.

We plan on doing both meals - subject to getting booked up ;). The girls haven't met Lilo & Stitch for years so will be very pleased to see them at breakfast :thumbsup2.
