There was one of these Birth Day shows , it showed women giving birth in different countries and their customs.
There were women giving birth in Japan, some arabic country ( didn't get which one ) , Russia , India and I forgot where else.
I heard one of the nurses yell at the mother,
stop crying , the hospital in Japan was actually good but no fathers are allowed to be present in the birthing rooms, but the one that really struck me was the hospital in the arabic country.
The woman needed a c-section , the operating room looked worse than a bad gas station bathroom, they had no sutures to close that woman up after the c-section , so they gave the husband a prescription for sutures and he had to run out and try to find some in a pharmacy while they were operating.
The baby was delivered and didn't breath , I cannot even describe what they did to that poor baby, they put a piece of gauze over the baby's mouth and started CPR, put him upside down and smack the heck out of his little butt , the baby was limb for a while but eventually started to cry.
Oh yes, and then they moved him into the NICU , guess what the NICU was? an unused room and when the nurse would get out of the room , they shut off the lights, the baby was in that little chamber in a dark room with nothing else.
Then I heard , most of those people working there were people without training.
Let me tell you , I know that healthcare here can be expensive, but I thank God we have what we have.
The woman in Russia actually had the baby placed in a basinet in the hospital that was rusted.
It was really sad to see that.
