Watch those sale papers!!

I'm sure you all do - BUT - even after you make a big purchase make sure you keep an eye on them!

We purchased new kitchen cabinets from home depot in the beginning of this month. The kind that you can take with you. When we purchased them I had a 10% off coupon and saved $200. I was very excited about that - until I saw the sales paper this week. They were an additional 10% off.
I called up home depot and very nicely asked if they had a price guarantee. I didn't even have to ask twice before he told me to bring back my receipt and he would give the discount to us!!! We saved an additional $208!!! (not sure how the computer figured that out)

Then I was looking in the Target sales paper and saw that my bike trailer went down $21. So right after home depot we ran to Target!!!

So yesterday I made $229 just for keeping my receipts!!

Congratulations! That's awesome that you could save more money.

I've had similar things happen at places where they have a time limit on price adjustments (Target). I nicely asked her if she was going to make me return everything in order to rebuy it at the sale price. sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. Obviously you couldn't do that with cabinets....
