Watch SWA tickets bought with points

I bought tickets with points and continued to check my flights to see if the price dropped.

Well the price did not drop but the amount of points required dropped from 8220 to 7600 I thought it was odd but I was able to get 2,480 points refunded back to my acct.

Yes they changes the ratio from cash to the better. I did think it was unusual. Of course the points are going to go up over 10% when they change the ratio again which I think is in April.

It just weird how I watch the cash price stay the same yet the point fluctuated several times. Today when I looked the price is the same but the points went up 400 point. I thought it was a fix point per dollar which is $60 and increasing to $70 on April 1

SW has not in a long time matched that I thought the point value was supposed to be which by my calculation would have been 1.667 C per point. (60 points per $)

It was a 1.851 C per point and is now at 1.947 C per point. I had figured on April first it would change to 1.414 C per point (70 points per $).

Not complaining at the higher value, just wondering where we are going to end up.

I noticed this too., I just switched our airports. The cost was the same 109 each leg. But it was 400 points/person less. Thus I paid the 2.50/person change fee. But then got 2,000 points in my account. Then turned around and booked our way home.,.....I was always a Delta fan, but now SW is growing on my quickly
