Are watches still priced better in the Caribbean than the internet? I am going in a few months and have a watch problem. Not looking for a $10,000 watch but 300-500 maybe a little more. I have price shopped several that I am interested in but I have seen several that I like for the first time when shopping in the Caribbean. I also think that value is perceived (just like I think it is still worth traveling DCL) even though I can't go as often anymore. So if I see it and like it for the price I may still buy it , but curious what others have seen.

It's always been hard for me to compare prices as you have to compare apples to apples by knowing the exact price of the exact watch you are looking at. With that said, from what little i know, the prices I've found have been inline with what you can find online shopping from home. The benefit is that you get to see and wear the watch in person. I do not have extensive experience so I will definitely defer to others who have more experience.

For me, I wouldn't make any sort of expensive purchase like that on a cruise. You really have very little recourse if something goes wrong, and you need work done on it.

I'd buy at home.

When in St. Thomas in April watch prices were more or less the same as a savvy shopper could get online. I priced the Citizen 4008-51E and found it for approx $350 on the Island (retail is $595). I found it online at Kohls and Bed Bath and Beyond and after coupons it went to the same price. I opted to pick it up in the states to be sure I had no issues should I need to return for any reason.
