We are off to Seatac airport in about 25 minutes. I survived the final packing surge, with only a bit of yelling from dh as he lugged our suitcases to the car. (hope they are still there!) I feel prepared for anything, including the pending storms, but man, I have never packed so much stuff!

I did have one mishap, when getting my cameras ready. I had over 800 picutures on one card, and so I uploaded it into my creative memories program and then I deleted the pictures from the card. Then I reopened my creative memories program and all my pictures were gone. My disc has an issue and after an hour or so with tech support, we can't recover my pictures. But, I remembered reading on this very board about someone deleting their pictures by mistake and then being able to recover them! So rather than sit around and cry, I called Kits Camera, and yeah! They can most likely recover my pictures. So, I am one card short, but I can fix that. Oh yeah, it is $40 to recover the pictures, but well worth it!

Other than that, all went well. Per usual, was up way to early and many times over the night to check the clock. Hope I can snooze on the plane:)
And per the usual, Many Thanks to everyone for all your sharing of great tips!
I'll tell Mickey that you all said hello!

Have a great time, Tracey :woohoo: Hopefully the weather is not so bad...... Say hi to Mickey for me!

We are here now. Trip was great. Loved Long Beach and Limo service by Harold was incredibly fun. The crowds and the ticket lines are amazingly long! Had to wait for about 40 minutes to get my Costco AP traded in, so I could go into the parks, and stand in line to get my AP processed. I have to say, if I had not been at other times, this would have been less than magical for me. But being the savvy gal that I am, we got through that part, and headed off, grabbing fast passes where we could and skipping the long standby lines, knowing we can go later this week. We jumped on Jungle Cruise and got a great skipper that put us in the disney mood. Then we stood in standby for Big Thunder because little one really wanted to. It was about 30 minutes and we had a really great ride. We lunch and cookie boat at Blue Bayou with our cousins, who had collected fast passes all morning when we were flying and they shared them with us, which led to a wonderful rest of the day. The surprise at BB was a special Valentine Pin that came with our check. Woo Hoo!
For the first time, I staked out a spot for the fireworks. It was simply amazing, and I am so glad that we did that.

That's all for now! LOVE Hojo. They are really awesome!

Hope you have an awesome time Tracey!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Don't ya just love the fireworks at Disney?!!! I bet that was really cool seeing them from a prime viewing spot.

The long AP line doesn't sound like too much fun though. Gee, I hope it's not like that on March 5th when I'll most likely be doing the same thing at the start of our ladies trip.

So, first you have to stand in line at one of the ticket booths to trade in the Costco voucher for an AP, and then you go inside the park and stand in line to have your picture taken and put on your AP? I'm just trying to get a sense of how this works.

Sounds like a great trip so far. :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to flying into LGB for the first time in March.

But just curious why the long ticket lines and crowds??? It's supposed to be off season now in Feb. Spring break isn't even here yet. Or is it an exceptional weekend because it's the Valentine's Day weekend???

I can answer the long lines question. Presidents day weekend, always a busy time. Sounds great so far. Have lots of fun.

It's because of President's day weekend and a lot of schools are out for mid winter break.

I'm under the impression that most CA schools don't have mid-winter breaks. Can anyone confirm?

Most of the local schools don't have mid-winter breaks (for the most part). But that doesn't mean No. Cal., AZ, and NV don't. Also all schools and alot of businesses will be closed Monday. Also, County (Orange) workers (at least Social Services) were also off on Thursday (Pres. Lincoln's bday) so alot of them may have made a 5 day weekend out of it. The rest of the week should be fine, from Tuesday on. The storm that was supposed to slam us starting today, Sunday, is now pushed back to arriving sometime tonite, with heavy rain on Monday. But then you never know. Some of these storms stay more to the north of us and we'll only get the tail end. Only time will tell.

For now Thursday looks great! Partly cloudy, high of 71. :sunny:

Have fun!

I don't know about other parts of CA, but here in the bay area we do have mid-winter break (this week for our district). We also have another break in mid-April (Easter).

It is President's Weekend. Most CA schools do not have a mid-winter break in February, however, almost everyone (offices, schools, govt services) DOES close on Monday. This is a big 3 day weekend. I am relatively sure the holiday weekend is the reason that there are fireworks this weekend (in the midst of no fireworks atm).

I would expect a very crowded park this weekend.

No mid winter breaks. Most schools had last Monday and this Monday off. Some are smart enough to just give Friday and Monday off instead. But most in the districts surrounding the parks don't.
