I am going on my daughters 6th grade DC trip this May and need web sites so I can start planning. We do have group activities but we also have quite a lot of free time as well and I like to be prepared! The last time I was in DC I was 8, so I've never been as an adult. I would love to find a planning BB like here but haven't found one yet. Anyone have any sites they have used to plan a trip to DC?

Thanks! I'll check them out this week.

Also try www.washingtonpost.com. They have an entertainment section that may have some ideas for local happenings you can check out.

I'm a local, so if you have any questions, I'll do my best to help out. One suggestion I have is to go to the new Udvar-Hazy Center out by Dulles. It's the new wing of the Air & Space Museum (no pun intended) and it's fabulous. Other suggestions are the Spy Museum (I spent 3 hours there and still didn't catch everything), any of the Smithsonians on the Mall and the FDR Memorial on the Tidal Basin (my personal favorite memorial).

We are going in June and bought a book to have on hand too.
We just bought our plane tickets today. :D
Be sure to give us a report when you get back!
