Washers and Dryers

I am new to DVC. I know some units have the stack-able washers and dryers in them while some do not (Studio). I know this is most likely a silly question but are the general laundry rooms "complementary" or does Mickey need more $$$$$$$$$ ?

complimentary. you just need your own detergent.

OKW has a laundry "room" with individual washers and dryers. Any DVC villa that is a 1 bdrm or larger will have a w/d. As for the laundry facilities, usually there is no charge for the machines but if you don't have your own detergent and fabric softener you will need to buy it. I always have Bounce sheets in a ziploc in my suitcase.

I don't know if they're still this way, but when I was there, the washers and dryers at BCV had coin slots. My first thought was "Hey, I thought they said these were free!" and I didn't have any money with me. But then I just pushed in the coin slot, like you'd do if you had put money in, and the washer started up. But the coin slot really surprised me at first.

There is also a laundry availability app for the newer machines that lets you know if machines are available.

Yeah Bill, that new app is pretty cool. Especially for resorts like the Poly where they only have one laundry and the resort is so spread out. Very handy!

Thanks for the clarification, DenLo. I had always heard it was an app. I've stayed at the Poly villas but didn't have need for the w/d.
