Washer/Dryers far from studios?

Hello,
I don't have a ressie yet, as I'm still trying to find someone with points/dates for this May. We had planned on a 2 bdr, but some of our party backed out. Now I'm shooting for a studio, but that washer & dryer was a huge perk with little ones! How far are the facilities from the studios in the BCV and WLV? Are there plenty? Will I have to walk for miles?

Being new to DVC I would like to know how much it costs to wash and dry.

No charge to use the wash facilities at DVC resorts. The distance from your villa will vary by resort. For example, at OKW, the laundry facilities are located at each of the resort's three pool complexes. So, in general, the laundry will be a short walk from your villa, but could be as much as a few hundred yards depending on where your villa is located.

And at BCV, they're located on the fourth floor. The good news is that besides being free, the laundry room has always been empty when I've gone, even when the resort was at capacity. The bad news is that if you're way down the hall and on the second floor, it's a long haul to the elevators, and off, with your laundry. But the laundry room is at least very near the elevator.

At SSR they're located near the main pool. Not sure if there's a second laundry near the pool at the Paddocks....I seem to remember reading somewhere there is another laundry room. At VWL I believe the laundry is on the ground floor near the quiet pool area and at BWV it's located near the excercise room on ground floor not far from the pool area.

You are luckier then me... it's always had every washer/dryer full when I am there. That is my biggest complaint there. There are NOT enough washer/dryers apparently.

At SSR they are at the pools and last weekend the one I used was empty.

Seems like at VWL, I remember them being just around the corner from the elevators on the 1st floor.

The BWV guest laundry is on the first floor near the elevators and the Health CLub.

There are laundry facilities at the Paddocks Quiet Pool. It's very convenient.

There is a HUGE laundry room near the themed pool at SSR. I was shocked how many washer and dryers there were there in comparison to the 2 washers at the other locales.

When we were at BCV in August, one of the washers was broken. That made for a long wait to wash clothes. There always seems to be people in the one there.

At VWL however, we have been lucky in that there was only one other couple washing and they were kind enough to use only one machine so I could use the other.

I tried to use the laundry room at Congress Park and one washer wasn't working and the other was in use. One dryer also wasn't working. So I took my laundry over to the main pool area. There are about four washers and eight dryers there. However, when I was there, the staff from the Spa was using them, too.

I've always found the resorts with just one laundry room (BCV, VWL and BWV) to have busy laundry rooms.

How about trying for a l bedroom instead of a studio? That would give you the washer and dryer in the unit and also a full kitchen. With little ones, you wouldn't have to leave the unit to do laundry and could do some simple meals in the unit.
