I emailed AKV concierge and asked them if there was a kaiser facility to use on the floor. For some reason, I remember reading that there was on the boards. Anyway, they told me that all concierge suites have a washer and dryer in them..... I never heard of this, lol. I know that one bedrooms Dvc have the W&D. Are the AKV studios different from the regular concierge rooms? The person I was talking with knows that we are staying in a studio through DVC.

I wonder why the person told me that there is. I have to say that I really don't find the concierge desk very helpful so far. In 3 emails I also asked where to check in. Of course, no answer. Do they not read the emails? Am I supposed to check in down stairs or upstairs? I am about to just call the desk and ask.

So does anyone know if there is a laundry room somewhere on the 6th floor to do laundry?

Nevermind, I called and got my answers. Should have just done that to begin with, lol.

There is a concierge podium at the porte cochere at AKV. Someone will meet you there and take you upstairs to check in. Of course, if you're like us, they will be checking someone else in, and you'll have to wait for them to return.

I have taken my studio laundry to the regular DVC laundry on the 5th floor. Thank goodness for the OL and my pop-up laundry hamper!

We arrived for AKV CL 2 weeks ago and had a car. The gatekeeper alerted the concierge and as we walked from parking our car, we were met by a CM who knew us by name, and check in was quick and easy. The room was ready, it was around 2PM.

Care to share your findings so others can benefit. :goodvibes

The CM just told me that the DVC laundry is located on the 5th floor on the Zebra Trail. She also said that someone will meet us and take us upstairs.

Oh, and said to do online check in because check in will be a lot quicker.

That is nice. I doubt that our room will be ready because we are getting there super early. We usually just leave our bags and go to the parks. I am hoping that they will let us use the lounge even if our room is not ready because I am pregnant, so I will need a snack or two before heading to the park, haha. I'll bring my own anyway, just in case.

Oh yes, you are welcome to use the lounge as soon as you check in. You'll be fine!

Are you a DVC member staying on points on the sixth floor of Jambo House? If yes, you can use the DVC laundry room on the fifth floor. If you are a regular cash paying guest staying on the fourth floor, you are not entitled to the free laundry room on the fifth floor. No concierge rooms have free laundry that goes with them. At any of the resort hotels. You have to pay to do your laundry.

When you started talking suites then villas, I started to think you are not on DVC points.

Yes, we own DVC and are using points and staying concierge. The response that I had gotten when I asked about the DVC concierge room was that "all of our SUITES have washers and dryers in them." I get the rules, thanks.

So that CM was very confused because not only do they all not have a washer and dryer, they aren't called suites. Those are completely different types of lodging. And I don't think the suites have washers and dryers in them.
