The book Mouse Tales talks about how a dude raised his hands over his head on the bobsleds and lost his finger when a ring got caught on a rivet. If a person touches a wall at 15 mph then they could get cut or burned. A bleeding wound could then splatter onto other guests thus spreading diseases and making those gets puke or try to get away from the blood and get hurt trying to avoid the blood and gore.
The guidelines are there because too many guests have jumped into moving boats at Pirates, stood over the yellow line at Big Thunder, nearly or have walked off of loading platforms, got too close to oncoming vehicles and done stupid things which got people hurt like the dude who stood up on the bobsleds long ago. The rules are in place because people cannot, will not or do not use common sense.
I would love the old peoplemover back but know that they will never come back. I would love to see some ride there but doubt it. I know I would love to ride the keel boats but they will never be back.
