I was at Epcot a couple weeks ago waiting on the monorail and there was a security guard wandering around with a bomb sniffing dog. So yes, they are very real!

yes they have dogs. seen them.
sometimes they are in the open, doing their job.
and let me tell you there are cameras in places that would surprise you.
some days most of those parks are at capacity. and unfortunate for us, terrorism is viable anwhere in america.

Their reports of Disney security k-9 officer checking out a car parked in the Epcot lot oddly parked near a monorail pylon. They checked it and deemed it safe then left so they do take things very seriously.
