Was there any Free dinning or other specials This December?

I was just wondering if there was any specials this December such as free dinning or anything else.

Our January trip got cancelled so I am now planning for next December before we lose our airfare.

My wife and went for a three day weekend in Sept. with the free dinning and it was a wonderful perk.

I can imagine! I was almost tempted to make a September trip to take advantage of it myself. Having said that, I don't think folks can expect it will be offered again this coming September. It just caused too many problems within the restaurants, from what we've read, and it doesn't sound like they would have lost too much business by putting a small charge on it...

The December code discounts allowed you to book a discounted hotel room and purchase dining.

I don't think we'll see free dining. A family of 4 were getting a dining package worth $140 a night (assuming the kids are between 10-18) even if they were staying in a value resort that cost around $100/night.

Some guests staying offsite or in a DVC resort were talking about booking a value hotel and not even using it. Other posters were begging to be added to strangers reservations to get dining for free, or at just for the extra adult resort fee.

The dining plan was available when we went in early December (12/1-12/4) of this year. In fact, it was offered to us twice - once when we booked the room, and when I was making my ADR's.

Bump... I'd like to know this too! I know there was no free dining, but was there a package discount or room only code? If so, could someone provide figures? I am starting to plan our Dec. 2006 trip. Thanks!!

As Lewisc mentioned, I believe it was a room discount code. It came out, I think I recall, in October of last year and was applicable for most dates between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We went this year from 12/14 - 12/18 and I had booked our trip way back in May of 2005. Fortunately, an AAA code came out at the same time and we were able to apply it to save another $130 on our rooms - keep in mind, we had 2 GV rooms booked at Poly for 4 nights, so all in all, with the code we saved another $16 per room per night - hey, buys lunch, you know!

Dave Goofydad - I would go ahead and book for early December 2006 - nothing past December 19th - You will be taking advantage of Value Season rates and going at an absolutely BEAUTIFUL time of year. Plus, if any codes or discounts do come out, chances are high that you will be able to apply them to your pre-existing reservation. Have a great trip - nothing beats WDW during the holiday season!

Actually, this December there were room only discounts and package discounts.

I was able to get 5 nights @ Pop (2 rooms) with 6 day base tickets and dining for 2A and 2C for just over 1700. Appx. $300 savings over rack rate for this package.

Not a screamin' deal, but not bad either IMHO.
