Was Epcot ever open later than 9pm?

In my recent memory I cannot remember a time when Epcot regularly had hours later than 9 pm (not counting EMH), but was it open later in the 80's? I seem to remember it open really late at night when I was a kid, but then again, maybe 9 pm just seemed late to me at the time. :rotfl2:

I remember MK being open really late in the summers when I was a kid, and for some reason I remember Epcot the same way. Was Epcot open later when there were only two parks?

I really wish they would leave World Showcase open later. It's our favorite part of Disney World, and it seems adult-oriented enough that it could have later hours. I'm sure there must be some reason they close it down so early...

I personally would be afraid of it turning into to much of a night club, and too many drunks if it was open late. Disney is suppose to be family friendly.

I think having it open til 10 would be good. I think that would make a big difference in getting more done at WS especially in the summer. I went on an August afternoon around 3 pm and I roasted halfway around. I couldn't take it and went back to the resort. It would be so much better to have a little more time at night.

It is sometimes open until 10. There was at least 1 night during our trip last week that both sides were open til 10 and illuminations was held at 10. This was not extra magic and was not the 30th anniversary. It may have been on Sunday. I can't remember for sure but I do think it was a weekend night.

It was open until 10pm last Saturday night - we were there! F&W many World Showcase a little too crowded for us, but Future World was nearly empty and we walked on to Mission Space, Nemo and Spaceship Earth after dinner, and then watched Illuminations at 10pm.

Epcot is open until 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays JUST during the Food and Wine Festival.:)

The only other days that Epcot is open past 9:00 PM is when the 9:30 PM closings kick in from the day after Thanksgiving until December 30,a 10:00 PM closing on Independence Day and,of course,a VERY late closing on NYE.:)

Thanks everyone! I've been thinking about this for a while, and its good to know that my memory is not totally off. I also wish they would keep Epcot open later, its such an awesome park its almost a shame to shut it down so early.

In the 90's the whole park was open 9 until 10 just about every day. Worldshowcase and Future World opened at the same time as well.

It's open to 9:30pm when Candlelight Processional is on (day after Thanksgiving to day before NY Eve), been that way for a long time.
