I just booked a Club level Jr. Suite at the Dolphin yesterday for 12/31/03-1/4/04 using the nurse's rate, which I think is the same as the teacher's rate. I spoke directly w/ a reservationist (Jaheida) at the Swan/Dolphin. Apparantly, even though the $129 teacher/nurse/gov't rate for a standard room is good all year round, the rates for suites change with the "peak" season or "value" season. Our Club Level Jr. Suite for 12/31 (peak) is $387.50, while the other 3 nights (value) are 340.00/night. Non-club level Jr. Suite prices are $340 (peak) and $292.50 (value). Other teacher/nurse/gov't rates for the Dolphin that I was given for regular non-suite rooms are:
standard $129
lake view $154
Balcony $174
club level $199
None of these rate included the mandatory $10/nite "resort fee"
A couple of interesting things: although if you pre-book club level on a standard room, the rate is $199, or $70 extra per nite, but she told me that if you just book the standard $129 room and wait until check in to upgrade to club level, they will give it to you for only $60 extra (if available).
The other thing I found odd was that when I first called I spoke to Jaheida who quoted me the above rates. I told her I'd need to think about it for a bit before I booked. I called back a few hours later and got a different reservationist, Melissa. I told her I wanted to go ahead and book the club level Jr. Suite. SHE gave me a HIGHER RATE! (can't remember exactly, but it was like $430 or $440!) I told Melissa the rates that Jaheida had quoted me, and she just transferred the call to Jaheida, who again quoted me the original rates I posted above. So I don't know which one of them was correct, but I liked Jaheida's rates better, so be sure to ask for her if Melissa answers the phone!
Hope that helps!
Sue
