Hello everyone,

We just got back last night and we had the most incredible experience - we got chosen to be the Welcome Family for Sunday the 18th at the MK! We were staying at the SOG and this month Disney is honoring the military. On Sat morning as we were heading out, a man from Disney asked if we would be interested in being the "Welsome Family" on Sunday - of course we said yes! We had to be at the park by 8am - they drove us out to Toontown where we got to spend almost 20 minutes ALL BY OURSELVES with Mickey, Minnie, Peter Pan, Wendy, Pluto, Goofy, Cruella DeVille, Alice and Chip and Dale. The train was late coming around to get us, so we had a TON of time - Goofy took my youngest dd to the little playground in Toontown and played with her on the slide. Then we rode the train over to Main Street, got introduced and helped to count down the opening and throw the silver pixie dust (which I kept a little of to go with the certificate they gave us). The only down side was that the photographer who was SUPPOSED to take photos for us didn't until after we came down from the station when it was all over. We were there by ourselves so had nobody else to take photos - so can you beleive that we had this once in a lifetime opportunity and have NO photos from it? I was SO upset when I learned that, but it was still completely magical.

The MVMCP was really fun. It was pretty cold and rainy the entire time we were there until yesterday of course, but that didn't slow us down at all. My girls also did the Pirate Treasure Hunt Adventure Cruise and LOVED it - they had a great time. I also love the new Photo Pass - I just looked at our pictures online.

I am hoping for some really magical pixie dust - was anyone at the opening of the MK on Sunday and may have taken some photos or video of the opening? We have NOTHING from it and I am desperate to find somebody who may have taken some pictures. If you were there, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact me!!!!

Stacey :-)

Just bumping up my message and still hoping someone was there who took some pictures - please help me out if you can!!!

What a great experience! I do hope you find someone who took pictures. But the memories are still wonderful, you should write a family story about the experience and have the kids draw pictures of what they remember. Then put the certificate and story w/ pictures in a scrap book. As a military family member myself I am glad that they chose your family. Thanks for all of your hard sacrifices and service! Happy Holidays.

We were there on the 18th. What a neat experience!!

We did not take any pictures of the opening ceremony as we were in the back of the crowd that morning.

I hope you can find someone who did.

Just bumping up one more time and still praying for some pixie dust!!! Have not heard from anyone yet who was there - hope still that there is someone out there who can help us get some memories of our Magical Disney Moment!!

Good luck to you in your search for pictures of your family. I wasn't there on the 18th but on the whole when I watch the parades I very rarely take pictures of the families in the parade. Mostly because of not knowing them. But hopefully someone did. I may start to in case I can ever help someone like yourself. Again, good luck!

Sorry cant help either. We were also there but couldnt get a decent picture of anything due to crowd level!
Any luck yet?

We were there, and we saw you!!! We were really in front of the crowd
over to the left, so had a good view of you.
However, it was our first park day and we decided not to bring a camera until our last few days!
So, sorry I can't help either!
