Hello everyone,
We just got back last night and we had the most incredible experience - we got chosen to be the Welcome Family for Sunday the 18th at the MK! We were staying at the SOG and this month Disney is honoring the military. On Sat morning as we were heading out, a man from Disney asked if we would be interested in being the "Welsome Family" on Sunday - of course we said yes! We had to be at the park by 8am - they drove us out to Toontown where we got to spend almost 20 minutes ALL BY OURSELVES with Mickey, Minnie, Peter Pan, Wendy, Pluto, Goofy, Cruella DeVille, Alice and Chip and Dale. The train was late coming around to get us, so we had a TON of time - Goofy took my youngest dd to the little playground in Toontown and played with her on the slide. Then we rode the train over to Main Street, got introduced and helped to count down the opening and throw the silver pixie dust (which I kept a little of to go with the certificate they gave us). The only down side was that the photographer who was SUPPOSED to take photos for us didn't until after we came down from the station when it was all over. We were there by ourselves so had nobody else to take photos - so can you beleive that we had this once in a lifetime opportunity and have NO photos from it? I was SO upset when I learned that, but it was still completely magical.
The MVMCP was really fun. It was pretty cold and rainy the entire time we were there until yesterday of course, but that didn't slow us down at all. My girls also did the Pirate Treasure Hunt Adventure Cruise and LOVED it - they had a great time. I also love the new Photo Pass - I just looked at our pictures online.
I am hoping for some really magical pixie dust - was anyone at the opening of the MK on Sunday and may have taken some photos or video of the opening? We have NOTHING from it and I am desperate to find somebody who may have taken some pictures. If you were there, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact me!!!!
