Welcome to July Walt's Warriors!!!

Hot and rainy summer months for most of us. Here are a few sports quotes I wanted to share with everyone...

James Allen: Don't accept that others know you better than yourself. Work joyfully and peacefully, knowing that right thoughts and right efforts will inevitably bring about right results.

Marvin Phillips: The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!

Muhammad Ali: Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them -- a desire, a dream, a vision.

Kate: :rolleyes1 Sorry, I did a copy and paste from June's first post. :confused3

ANYONE else who is not listed for an event for January, please let me know!!

Tracy

Tracy, I'm now registered for the Goofy instead of the full. Well, I guess, in addition to the full. :goodvibes I never thought I would be so looking forward to running 39.3 miles!

Sarah

Howdy Warriors. I was wondering can we double our miles from a bike race or only foot races. I did a bike race this pass Sunday called the Urban assualt and biked 20 miles.

Any race you have entered you can double miles.

:thumbsup2

for june miles 164.39 time 17:17. Hope everyone has a great 4th of July.

Here we go! I posted my June miles and minutes on the spreadsheet. I really ended with a bang, posting 15 miles today, so that really helpd my totals!

Also, you can add me to the Warriors meet in January! :cool1:

Hi Warriors! I'm just starting to resurface from Seattle weekend. Oh it was a fantastic weekend!

Sarah, it was great to meet you and James. We had such fun didn't we!

I would definitely recommend this race to anyone interested. Great event. I'll be putting up something short on the race reports thread, but not just yet. I'm super swamped at the moment. How can that be?

I've got to update the spreadsheet and hope to get to that very soon. Also have Presidents fitness get logged. Too many places, but it's all fun.

PS, for those with problems logging into spreadsheet, Tracy informed me that some are having problem if you are usint IE. I went in via Safari and had no trouble updating. Just might be the same thing I had going. Later the spreadsheet updated when I tried again with IE...go figure.

Catch up with everyone later...

Hey Warriors!

My miles and minutes are all caught up for June! And I am signed up for 3 races in July, so that should help in the miles department!

Put me down for the POP meet up in January too!

Cross-train day for me, so just 2 miles on the elliptical, but got it some good weight and core work! :thumbsup2

Morning Team!

Tracy - put in my June totals this morning. I don't have any numbers for Jeff for June - LTO, however, he's got a 10K on Saturday - so will have double miles for July.

Hope everyone is doing great - and wishing you all a very happy 4th of July weekend!!

I sure slept good last night! Went out to the lake and swam about 3/4 mile. Then hopped in a friend's kayak and went back out for another 30 minutes or so. Back at home it was W2D2 of push ups and W3D2 of sit ups. Whew!

Tracy - I posted my June totals at the end of the June thread. Put me down for the POP meet as well.

Yay! 3 day weekend! Have a good one Warriors!

Hey Warriors!

Lily: I'm seconding the recommending of the RnR Seattle race! I live in Seattle, but the route still seemed fun and interesting. And the hills weren't too bad. :cool1:

Michelle: Yay for swimming and kayaking! That's one way to beat the heat!

Tracy: Could you add me to the Warrior meet, as well? I'll be arriving Wednesday or Thursday (depending if I decided to go for a Dopey) and James won't be arriving until Saturday, so you guys might be seeing a lot of me in those couple days! :goodvibes

Went for a bike ride with the dog last night.... but the whole thing was totally ruined by me LOSING MY KEYS somewhere along the route! I rerode my route (extra miles!) and found the two dog bags that were also in the pocket, but not my keys. I took the dog for a walk this morning in daylight to look for them, but still no dice. I'm not so concerned about losing the keys because they can be easily replaced but they are attached to a Disney lanyard and my Leatherman multitool, which NEEDS to be replaced before I start my roadtrip on Sunday, for my own piece of mind. Ugh.

Also, I woke up this morning with some random knee pain. Ugh! So stretching and icing instead of running today.

I'm leaving Sunday morning for Ontario, and am so unorganized, it feels like. Packing everything you need for a 5000 mile round-trip roadtrip, a large dog, your own wedding, your best friend's wedding, and two weeks at a cottage on a lake, is very intimidating, i'm learning.

Oh well, ranting over, and then back to work! I'm going to take the dog to the park so he can run off his steam before locking him up in the house for the rest of the day so I can get some work done!

Sarah

8 1/4 miles in 1:12, plus the 1,000 meter swim.

At the start of my run, it began with me intervening in a domestic dispute. Some idiot choking his girlfriend right on the corner. I yelled at him to stop, then he came at me swearing up a storm. In the meantime the girl ran the other direction. No cops around when you need them. Good deed for the day.

Well, the adrenaline had me pumping the first 4 miles. :rotfl2:

Happy 4th of July everyone. Oh, and the circuit court judge issued an injunction against the governor's plan to furlough state workers. Rats, I was looking forward to having Friday's off. :rotfl:

Jeff my goodness that's an amazing good deed- you just be careful being chased by crazy throat squishing idiots! Can really see that would pump you up!

Sarah WOW you're going goofy!!!! That's fantastic

Roxy 20 miles of Urban Assualting sounds hard work and not at all like a usual road race- I hope that you get double miles

Erika that was a great way to end the month- 15miles doesn't half boost totals

Lily well done for seattle- you are a star. Really glad it was such a great experience, it's always good to know when a race goes so well. Big :thumbsup2

Amy 3 races in one month :scared1: :woohoo:

Michelle no-one could ever say your workouts are boring  Kayaking on a lake sounds lovely too.

To all of you happy 4th of July!

Me I've bee getting my workouts in- went for a run after my meal on tuesday- lesson learnt that lasagne and running don't go....even after 2 1/2 hours! THE most uncomfy run. Did spinning again on wednesday, just wish I knew the mileage- would i be allowed to post an average for the classes?

Last night I went out with someone to give me running lessons! OK you guys doing press up challenge: I have extra respect for you. He made me try for our assessment- I did ONE! (then collapsed and had to do knee ones). We did an awesome hill session and he knocked my time up the same hill down from 44sec to 34sec with different technique. I like him!

Have a great weekend everyone

Uneventful brick workout today.

27 miles on the bike, 2:00:54.

2 miles afterwards, cruising 19:44.

Hey my lovely Warriors!!

I did a local 5k this morning to start off the July4th weekend.

I did a PR this morning.... (double mile for the Warrios)
36:44 ave pace of 11:50. I felt this was a day to push it a bit. I have been adding a bit of jogging in with my racewalking and speeding the racewalking so this is helping to get my times faster. I am hoping this will transfer over to my Half Marathon time!!

HAVE A GREAT 4th Everyone!!

Tracy
