If any of you gentle readers are OUTRAGED, AFFRONTED, INSULTED, or, you know "OFFENDED" by these images of religious symbols that I so thoroughly enjoyed at the Disney Studios' Spectacle of Lights, please feel free to Click Off.......

Hehehehe.... this non-Christian trip report reader loves your photos. Look at all those pretty lights! :goodvibes Frankly, I think people get a little too bent out of shape over symbols. Your symbols are not my symbols, but neither am I threathened nor offended by seeing your symbols.

It's like... going to Epcot and learning about the cultural differences. Are we offended? No. We want to learn about the different ways our fellow humans on this diverse planet of ours live their lives. I know one of the arguments that will surface, if this thread doesn't offend someone and get locked, is your happiness at seeing your symbols prominently displayed (as they should be considering this is a Christmas display) and that you were being hypocritical because of something said in your report. (I don't have that in front of me and don't want to misquote you) Anyway, that's appleas and oranges. This political correctness is insane.

I don't know about some of you but I would no more be offended by the display of a manger in WDW than I would be by a mennorah. And there is always that option to just walk away.

 Kathy Your pics are gorgeous!

I'm not offended at all-I love the manger scene-it's beautiful.

However, I am very jealous that I didn't get to see that in person!! That display is so beautiful! Grrrrrrreat pictures!!

Hi Marion!

Thanks for the support! You know, this past December, a neighbor of mine put up two of those huge blow-up lawn decorations in her front yard....a giant menorah and an equally giant dreidel!

The first words out of my mouth were, "You go, girl!!" :goodvibes

Anyway, I just needed to find a venue to make my reply to that unfriendly poster.... I did send him or her a polite private message, but that post just felt like such a black eye on my trip report.

By the way, my report has since been unlocked.

Oh, and for what it's worth, there is a menorah at the Spectacle of Lights!!

Thanks again! :grouphug:

Kathy

Okay, everybody, that unfriendly and argumentative post has been removed by the moderators.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled program of fun trip reports!

Thank you all for your support!

Kathy

Kathy, I just wanted to tell you that I was not offended either.

I would be more offended if we were not able to post certain pictures from WDW :confused3

I’m afraid that I do take offense to your pictures

They turned out so much better then mine did :confused3

Thanks for posting them

Oh, Keith, you always know just how to make me laugh. I really needed it today, too! Thanks!

Kathy

I would have loved to have heard the whole story behind this! Anyway, I just don't understand some people, just because what I believe and what someone else believes may be different, doesn't mean either of us are wrong. We all have the right and the freedom to do, worship, study, play, as we wish. Wasn't this country built on the pilgrims fleeing England to escape religous persecution because they wanted to worship as they see fit? I say to each his own. Thanks for posting your pics, I thought they looked great! :thumbsup2

Well Said!!!

Thanks for the "offensive" pictures... :santa: I loved them!

The only thing that offends me is the blatant lack of Budweiser photographs. Also, a shot of a fry basket wouldn't hurt. You simply cannot beat an early evening photo of a half eaten turkey leg smothered in Tobasco sauce. :thumbsup2

Buzz,
You truly have the vision of Picasso :thumbsup2

Buzz: They may poke fun at your vision, but no one can question your sense of humor! :joker: Thanks!
