You have been warned......
Proceed only if you understand that I am excercising my right to brag about my kids.
Do not go any further if parental bragging offends you in any way.
If you agree to these terms, proceed......
Tonight was parent/teacher conference night. Destiny (kindergarten) is doing fabulous. The teacher ran down the list of creditials that each student must maaster in order to advance. She has already met all the goals of kindergarten (and may advance onto first grade now, the teacher joked). Her previous shyness and "shutting down" have vanished and she laughs and giggles all day. She is always ready to help.
Brittany (2nd grade) is way ahead of her class level. She is a "model" student. Always polite and considerate of others and always willing to help. They have some kind of reading system that 2nd graders should be able to achieve levels 15-28. Brittany is at level 38 and will complete the 44th level by the end of next marking period. They don't know what they will do with her after that. She is excelling in science and all other areas as well.
Bradley (7th) recieved straight A's for a 4.0 GPA. Wonderful remarks about positive work ethics/attitude. Cooperative. Friendly. Uses time wisely.
Garrett's IEP was last Wednesday. He is going to regular P.E. and regular music. He can almost write his name (G-A-E-T-T, he misses the two Rs). He is now being assigned jobs as he wants the responsibility. He can count to 5 and is beginning to learn to add. He has mastered his communication board to elt people know his needs and he picks up signs the first or second time he is shown them!!
I am so blessed!!!
