I advise you all who are staying at the rodeway inn to think about it. I just got new from a friend who lives out there she usually lets me know the best places to stay and on a good budget..

Rodeway Inn is a BIG No -their starting renovations on the Hotel and from what i heard a HUGE insect problem:scared1:.. Yeah I rather stay at a Days/Holiday inn or something instead.. just letting you guys know yeah it may be cheap but i rather spend 20 dollars extra for a bug free Noise free room. popcorn::

We stayed at a Rodeway Inn in Lake George, NY and that is the ONLY hotel I have ever left because it was so disgusting. We suffered through one night and that was one too many!

Florida has a bug problems - so they are everywhere. the problem with inexpensive hotels is when the problems gets out of hand - no money to pay for it,.

so when you stay in any inexpensive hotel in Orlando you will probably have a bug problem.

the usually sprays don't work - those sprays count on the bugs being there. In Florida (ala too) they live outside - only come inside to get food.

So the bug sprays that work well up North just don't work in Florida.

Still remember Spicey at Motel 6. He had a good time on the floor - chasing things - we were too scare to turn on the light to see what he was chasing.

NEVER leave the door open - a bug will definitely walk in.

I had the same problem with staying at Days Inn. Bugs and the floor in the bathroom would have human hair on it. (Makes you wonder how well they clean the other areas of the room!)

Ahh jeez! Im staying here for a week early November before our second week in LBV....

Hope they have sorted out the insect problem before then! Fingers crossed!!!

:scared1: How come I never learn?

Note to self: Do not read any threads about bad hotels or bugs.

The reports on tripadvisor dont seem too bad! Fingers crossed it gets sorted!

With all due respect (and I am not saying anything you said is not correct), I think this particular bug problem is more due to the renovations than lack of sprays. You see this sort of thing happen in big cities when people re-gentrify or a fire claims a row house. All of the little roaches and other buggies that have been hanging out in the walls, minding their own business, are all of a sudden displaced and scurry to find a new home. It is disgusting, and I am sure once the renovations are over things will settle back down.

I thought it was fine, but they only had one person doing check-in so that took 45 minutes. It was relatively clean and very convenient.

Another option is to fight fire with fire. Publix sells the best spray ever invented, it's called Bengal. Spray it on your unwanted roommates and they instantly die. Doesn't smell too bad either.
